Disassemble An Ev Sx300 Speaker

The Electro-Voice SX200 and SX300 series of stage monitor speakers has been a familiar sight at live music performances since the late 1970s. Electro-Voice created the SX series of loudspeakers to be weather-resistant and capable of delivering full and robust sound at loud listening levels, which makes it ideal for outdoor performances. Electro-Voice phased out the SX200 series in the early 2000s and replaced it with the SX300 line. Except for some minor upgrades in the crossover circuitry, though, the cone and driver used, the design and the specifications are virtually the same. The modular design of the SX300 makes it relatively easy to disassemble to repair or replace internal components.

Instructions

1. Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen and remove the four screws that secure the grill to the front baffle. Remove the grill and set it aside.

2. Use a #2 hex driver to remove the eight screws that hold the woofer driver in place. Pull out the woofer a few inches until you are able to reach the wiring on the rear of the driver with the needle-nose pliers. Use the pliers to remove the wiring terminal leads from the driver.

3. Turn the speaker so that you can view the backside of the enclosure. Remove the 14 retaining screws that secure the front baffle piece to the rear enclosure. Use the awl or flat-head screwdriver to pry away the front baffle cover from the enclosure. As you pry the front baffle piece from the rear enclosure, remove the baffle just enough to allow access to the wiring that goes to the tweeter driver.

4. Use the needle-nose pliers to remove the wiring terminal clamps from the tweeter driver. Set the baffle facedown on a flat surface.

5. Remove the two #2 hex screws that secure the tweeter driver to the front baffle. Remove the tweeter and set it aside.

6. Place the rear enclosure on a flat surface with the open area facing up. Remove the wiring clamp leading from the crossover circuit board XLR cable connector on the rear face of the enclosure with the needle-nose pliers. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws that secure the circuit board to the enclosure. Remove the circuit board from the enclosure.

7. Turn the enclosure so that you can view the rear of the speaker. Remove the two screws that secure the XLR cable connector to the enclosure. Pull the XLR connector out slightly and then remove the wiring terminals with the needle-nose pliers.

8. Clean or replace components or drivers as needed. Reassemble the EV SX300 by reversing the steps used to take the speaker apart.

Nokia Camera Tools

Get closer to your subject by using the zoom feature.

Some Nokia wireless digital cell phones feature a handy built-in camera. They come with automatic-focus features, flash and zoom functions. Your camera can also be adjusted to capture photos of various sizes and can be easily set up to snap self-portraits. Before taking your phone to parties and events, you'll want to know the full extent of your phone's camera capabilities.

Camera

The Nokia N82 contains a 5-megapixel camera sensor, which captures up to 2,592-by-1,944 pixel images, and a Carl Zeiss/Tessar lens. The camera feature can be accessed by pushing and holding the "Camera" key (located on the right edge of the phone). Use the navigation button (located below the display in the center of the keypad) to highlight the image mode from the toolbar. You will see the composition in real time in the display. Hold the "Camera" key down halfway to automatically focus on your subject. Push the "Camera" key to capture the image.

Settings

The camera can be adjusted to capture various sized images by using the "Image Quality" function. From image mode use the navigation button to select "Options" and "Settings." You can take a picture of yourself, you and a group or take a picture with a steady camera by using the self-timer feature. The self-timer function will take a picture after a set amount of time, after you've placed the camera on a flat, steady surface. This will prevent camera shake during low-light situations and allow you to take a picture of yourself with ease. The self-timer can be set and activated by selecting the "Self-Timer" option from the image mode. You'll be prompted to choose from "2 Seconds," "10 Seconds" or "20 Seconds." Use Broken Mobile Phones

Repair or find use for mobiles to keep them out of landfills.

With fast-paced technology and millions of mobile phone users, devices are continually being replaced and the old ones discarded. In some cases, however, those broken mobile phones can get a second life. It may only take a little do-it-yourself repair to get it in working order, or use your imagination to find alternative uses for it and save your cell phone battery for calls.

Instructions

Replace Parts

1. Determine which part of the phone isn't working properly. Replacement screens, navigation tools such as trackballs, hinges and even replacement housings are available from online vendors.

2. Order replacement parts and necessary tools. Use the phone model number to determine what you need, and order from a reputable source with positive reviews and ratings.

3. Replace the parts yourself. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, find a good online source for direction or ask a question in a forum dedicated to the topic. Be sure your hands are clean when working with delicate electronics, you have the necessary tools and lint-free surface in your work area and place parts in a small container while working so they don't get lost.

Use Working Features

4. Determine which features work properly. Read the mobile phone specifications and test each feature.

5. Decide which features are worth using. If the mobile phone allows syncing with a home computer via USB or microSD card, use it as a camera, music player or portable gaming device.

6. Use it as a personal digital assistant. PDAs without phones were used for quite some time, and even without a wireless plan, a device's calendar may still be used. You may even be able to sync with calendars on your home computer.

7. Use it as a main or backup alarm clock. Some models let you set multiple alarms, and your cell phone's portability may be convenient for travel or in electrical outages.

Unlock An N95 8gb

By unlocking your Nokia N95 8GB, you will be able to use the phone with any GSM network worldwide. In order to unlock the phone, you have to purchase a special unlock code from a pay site. These sites generate individual codes using the phone's IMEI number. Once the phone is unlocked, you can insert a SIM card from any GSM network you want.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover of the phone and take out the battery.

2. Locate the International Mobile Equipment Identification (IMEI) number printed on a sticker under the battery.

3. Contact your wireless service provider, and tell the company representative that you wish to unlock your Nokia N95. Usually, the service provider is reluctant to give away the code. You will have to convince the rep that you have a genuine reason for having the phone unlocked, like you're traveling abroad or you've purchased the phone from eBay and it came locked.

If the service provider still refuses to give you the unlock code, purchase it online from websites like Unlocking, GSM Liberty and Unlock It Now. Codes cost around $25 to $49 depending on your carrier, as of 2010.

4. Charge your phone and insert the SIM card. Type "#PW+" on the main screen.

5. Enter the unlock code. Entering an inaccurate code more than a few times can lock your handset permanently.

6. Type "+1#" after entering the code. Your cell phone screen should now read "SIM Restriction Off."

Security is necessary on both the receiving and sending ends of email exchanges to ensure that viruses and other malware are not transmitted from computer to computer. If you suspect that a file you sent as an email attachment is infected with a virus, you can use your existing antivirus program or a free online scanner to examine it. Although each antivirus program may have a slightly different approach to scanning individual files, the general process is the same for all.

Select the scan options from the menu and choose the one that allows you to specify a scan file or folder.

3. Use the option's browse functionality to select the file that you sent as an email attachment and choose the "scan now" option. Some antivirus programs refer to this as "scan immediately." The antivirus program will display the results of the scan and either automatically quarantine or delete infected files or prompt you to take action to protect your computer from further infection.

Online File Scans

4. Open a browser program and navigate to one of the free online antivirus file-scanning websites, such as Virus Total, avast! or Kaspersky (see Resources).

5. Upload suspicious files for scanning.

Enter the full path and file name for the file you want to scan for a virus, then upload the file.

6. Enter any required challenge or confirmation codes if necessary. The scanner will display the scan results and provide you with information about remove the file if a virus is present.

Bluetooth devices experience connection problems, but they are easily resolved.

Bluetooth headsets are part of a growing wireless entity. As a result, they sometimes fail to work exactly as desired. If you are having connection problems with your Motorola Bluetooth headset, such as dropped calls or failure to receive calls at all, then there are a few things you can try to restore functionality. These methods can apply to other Bluetooth headsets, or Bluetooth devices in general, any time you are having Bluetooth-related problems.

Instructions

1. Check that your devices are correctly paired. On your phone, there will be a "Devices" menu that should list your Motorola Bluetooth device. If it is not listed, then re-pair your devices using the method that you used to pair them originally. The exact procedure will depend on both your phone and Bluetooth device, so consult your devices documentation for details.

2. Keep your phone as close as possible to your Motorola Bluetooth device. The maximum range for Bluetooth is about 15 feet, but the closer the devices are, the better the connection will be. Try to avoid keeping your phone behind barriers or near metal objects. Keep it in your pocket if possible.

3. Charge your Motorola Bluetooth headset as often as possible. Even if the device does have some battery power, functionality may be reduced if the battery is low. Charge it every night, if possible.

Drastic Weight Loss Measures

Obesity is a growing epidemic all over the world. As people get more sedentary and heavier, they begin to get unhealthier. Proper diet and exercise can help you attain and maintain a healthy weight. However, drastic methods are sometimes necessary to lose weight. Drastic weight loss methods are quick but sometimes potentially dangerous.

Fasting

One long-time weight loss method is fasting. Fasting is when you remove almost all vestiges of food from your diet and subsist almost entirely on liquids or minor amounts of solid food. The most common liquid consumed during fasting is water, but orange juice and prune juice are also used. The one benefit fasting offers is that it helps detoxify your body of the chemicals used in many foods. It is also a way to lose weight quickly, as your body consumes the fat in your body to survive. However, this method is also extremely dangerous. Though your body will consume the fat in your body, it can also consume muscle and, if given enough time, the organs as well. Fasting also slows the metabolism down to survival speeds. Once you begin eating again, the weight almost always returns quicker than you lost it.

Fad Diets

There are many different kinds of fad diets on the market these days. Examples are the Lemon diet, Weight Watchers diet, calorie counting, fish-only diets, diet shakes, and many more. The Atkins diet leaves out carbohydrates but lets dieters eat as much protein as they like. All these diets have a sporadic success rate. While they sometimes work to get weight off more quickly than a balanced diet and exercise program, they have a high relapse rate. Once the diet is over, people often return to their original eating habits and gain all the weight back. Fad diets are often bland and focus on one kind of food, which makes them boring and even bad for your health as you neglect important nutritious foods.

Surgery

Weight loss surgery is another growing trend for drastic weight loss. Liposuction has been used for decades to surgically remove excess fat and tighten skin. It is a quick way to lose a large amount of weight, but it doesn't fix the bad eating habits that lead to weight gain. Many people who go through liposuction gain their weight right back. There are also newer procedures such as stomach stapling and the lap band surgery. These methods close off the stomach, making it smaller, so it is incapable of taking in too much food. People who undergo these procedures lose weight, but sometimes at a price: The band may cause pain on the inside of the stomach or patients may get sick after eating. Consider surgical options very carefully before using them to lose weight.

Remove The Memory Card From A Nokia Phone

Your Nokia phone stores pictures, contact information and other data on a memory card inserted in the side of the phone. The memory card slides in and out of the slot on the side of your phone. 2. Locate the memory card slot on the side of your phone. It will be marked with a small card symbol on the cover of the slot. Open the cover to expose the card inside.

3. Press inward on the card to release it from the card slot. It is spring retained, so pressing in will cause the spring to push the card out enough to grasp the ridge on top of the card. Pull straight out on the memory card to remove it.

Make A Call From Pc To Cell

Make a Call From PC to Cell

Once upon a time, you had to use a phone to make a phone call. Modern technology has provided alternatives that allow you to call another person's cell phone--even if you don't have a phone or your own phone's battery is dead. Several computer programs allow you to use your computer instead of a phone to make calls, and some even allow you to assign a phone number to your computer to receive incoming calls.

Instructions

1. Choose the program you wish to use to make calls from your computer. Skype is a popular choice, but there are plenty of alternatives such as iCall and Yahoo! Voice.

2. Download the program you chose in Step 1, if applicable. Some programs work directly from your browser, while others need to be downloaded.

3. Follow any installation or set-up steps as prompted by your program.

4. Buy minutes or talk time in your new program, if applicable. Most programs charge a fee for calling a phone. Some allow free calls to others using the same program. You will need to enter a valid credit or debit card for this step if your program is not free.

5. Enter the phone number of the cell phone you wish to call into your new program, then press the button that says "Call" or something similar.

Put A Cell Phone On Silent

Switching your cell phone to silent can be welcome relief from annoying ringtones.

If you are in a meeting or do not want to be disturbed, you can put your cell phone on silent mode in place of its vibrate function or in place of an annoying ringtone. Luckily, modern cell phones have many ringtone options, and most models include a silent option in with the ringtones or via the audio options. Although every cell phone, such as the Sony Ericsson, Motorola, BlackBerry or iPhone brands, operates slightly differently, putting a phone on silent is a similar process on most cell phone models.

Instructions

Putting a Smartphone on Silent

1. Go to the home screen or main menu on your smartphone. The process for doing this will differ depending on your model of smartphone. You will know you are in the main menu or on the home screen when your phone displays all of the icons that represent the options available on your phone.

2. Select the option that represents the phone's ringtone and volume options. The icon will often look like a speaker or a bell, though it depends on your model of smartphone.

3. Click or tap on the ringtone or audio icon.

4. Select "Silent" from the audio or ringtone options that appear. Your smartphone will now be on silent.

Putting a Flip Cell Phone on Silent

5. Flip open the cell phone so that you can see the keypad.

6. Press the arrow keys on the side of the phone, which control the volume. These keys can be on the left or right side of the phone. For example, on Sony Ericsson phone models, the arrows are on the right, as opposed to Motorola cell phone models, which have the same keys on the left. Using the arrow keys alone may put your phone into silent mode, depending on the model. Or a menu may pop up with ringtone options or audio (volume) options.

7. Use the arrow keys on the side of phone to flip through menu. Press the down arrow to scroll through the menu if the ringtone options appear under the menu. Select the "Silent" ringtone option. If the cell phone model instead shows the audio options, press the down arrow on the side of the phone to turn down the ring volume. The screen on the cell phone will show bars, indicating the volume option.

8. Continue pressing the down arrow until there are no more highlighted bars on the screen if you are adjusting the audio option on the phone.

9. Select "Save" if necessary. (This will depend on your model of phone.) The volume on your cell phone will now be turned off.

The company's PC headsets are designed to be used primarily for multi-player gaming, while the mobile phone versions are designed to be used as hands-free devices while you are driving your car or participating in other activities that might require two hands. For wired computer headsets, all you need to do to get going is simply connect the headset to your USB port, the pink cord into your microphone jack, and the black cord into your headphone jack on your computer and start talking. Using the Bluetooth headsets is a little more complicated, but still easy to do.

Remove An Outer Security Plastic Cover From A Dvd

DVD security devices can be removed at home in just a few steps.

Sometimes it just happens. The store clerk forgets to remove the security device from the DVD, but no alarm sounds since the device was already deactivated at the register. The device locks you out of the case. With a few simple household tools, you can get into that case in no time.

Instructions

1. Place the weaker magnet on the outside of the security device. This pulls a small metal piece located inside of the device flat against the outer portion of the lock, allowing you to slide it out by moving the magnet toward the open end of the device.

2. Push the plastic of the device inward toward the DVD case. This aligns a metal bar inside it with its opening. Sometimes it becomes stuck or out of place due to previous mishandling. Misalignment prevents the metal from being removed.

3. Place the stronger magnet on the outside of the device. Slide it along and toward the open end. This moves the metal bar outward. Pull the plastic portion of the device away from the DVD case as you are doing this. That allows the opening to widen for the removal of the metal bar.

4. Remove the plastic portion of the security device from the DVD case. It should simply fall off after the final metal piece is removed.

Ways To Improve Vista Premium Performance

Microsoft Vista Premium (also known as Vista Home Premium) is Microsoft's operating system successor to Windows XP. It comes with features specifically targeted at the home market sector, like DVD authoring tools and native support for high definition television. Vista Premium normally runs well on the recommended system requirements, but you can still improve the performance without an expensive upgrade.

Use Disk Cleanup

Running low on storage space can slow down the speed of Vista Premium. Use the Disk Cleanup tool to find and delete all temporary or unneeded files on your storage devices. The tool can free up valuable hard drive space that increase the performance of your operating system.

Optimize Power Settings

Optimizing your power settings can increase the performance of Vista Premium. Adjust your power settings to levels that are recommended for your computer configuration. Turning off the "hibernation" feature in particular can save a lot of battery power on a laptop and increase the performance of any computer running Vista Premium.

Disable Startup Programs

Having too many programs that start up automatically when you log into Vista Premium wastes valuable system resources and decreases performance. Let only programs that are really important start up with Windows. Use Windows Defender to stop certain programs from automatically running when Windows starts. You can find Windows Defender under the "Start" menu in the "All programs" category.

Use Windows Readyboost

Extra memory is always useful for increasing system performance, and a new feature in Vista Premium is ReadyBoost, which allows you to plug in a USB flash drive which Windows uses to boost system performance. Use a flash drive of the same size as your actual physical memory for best performance.

Disable Visual Enhancements

Turning off visual effects in Vista Premium will give a performance boost at the cost of some cosmetic features. Open the Performance Information And Tools application; click the "Adjust for best performance" option in the "Visual effects" tab to give the best performance increase. You can also customize the settings individually, selecting which ones you want to keep enabled.

Use An Unlocked Phone With Verizon

Most cell phones can be used with any network.

An unlocked cell phone is a cell phone without a network provider. This means that the phone will not work. Without a provider a cell phone cannot make or receive calls or perform other functions like texting or web surfing. However, an unlocked phone is now eligible to work with any available network provider, including Verizon.

Hardware

For the unlocked phone to begin working with Verizon, it will need a piece of hardware from Verizon called a SIM card. The SIM card is a memory card and operating chip that is unique to every network. Contact Verizon with the make and model of the unlocked phone to get the corresponding SIM card.

Identification

Once a phone is unlocked it won't be allowed to work with other networks without an identification code. This code is called the IMEI code and identifies the individual phone, like a license plate on a car. The code cannot be found on the phone, it must be requested from the phone's original network provider. Contact that provider's customer service to request the code, which sometimes has to be purchased.

Process

After receiving Verizon's SIM card, remove the original SIM card and replace it with Verizon's. The SIM card on most phones can be found near the battery, which is in the back of the phone under a protective casing that is part of the phone's body. Slide that casing off and look for small slot near the battery with a chip in it. That is the SIM card.

Authorization

After the phone detects it has a new SIM card it will ask for the IMEI code. Enter the IMEI using the phone's dial pad, then the phone will be allowed to work with Verizon as its network provider.

Warnings

Not all phones will work with other networks. Some phones are exclusive to a single provider, like Apple's iPhone, which only works with AT&T. Other times, using a phone on a new network will work but will affect how the phone works. This is because of the differences in data packages providers offer. Before using the unlocked phone on Verizon, contact Verizon to see how the phone will work on its network.

Install Knobs On A Zeiss Conquest

Zeiss optics produces products for field use. Among these is a series of riflescopes, including the Conquest line. Conquest riflescopes use two controls to zero in accuracy on a horizontal and vertical plane. These are the windage and elevation controls, respectively. To use these controls, turn the knobs on the side and top of the scopes. Should the knobs wear out or fall off, replace them to regain the target accuracy abilities of the scopes.

Instructions

1. Open the rifle chamber the Conquest is attached to. Confirm that the chamber and rifle are empty of any ammunition. Place the rifle safety to on and leave the chamber open.

2. Look through the Conquest scope as you would when aiming the rifle. Feel the two threaded wire screws sticking out from the side and middle-top of the scope. Turn these as far clockwise as possible, using your thumb and forefinger. This sets the windage and elevation controls to the original and neutral position.

3. Place one drop of the liquid adhesive into the under-side center of the windage and elevation replacement knobs.

4. Push the knobs onto the threaded screws so the screw holes align to the screws. Turn the knobs clockwise to tighten them onto the scope's screws. Let the glue dry.

5. Use the knobs to gain accurate horizontal and vertical shots by turning them left or right during target or hunting sessions.

4. Navigate to the "Connections" menu on your cell phone, then to the Bluetooth menu. Then select "Look for Devices."

5. Choose Motorola H500 and enter "0000" for the passkey.

Delete Data From A Memory Stick

A memory stick is a type of storage device. It holds different types of data, such as documents, pictures and music files, and can be shared between computers. Memory Stick also refers to a brand name, and can be found under such manufacturers as Sony and SanDisk. They range in capacity, and are about an inch and a half to two inches long. Once you transfer the data to your computer, you can delete it from your memory stick.

Instructions

1. Connect the data transfer cable to your device. One end will have a connector that fits into a plug on your device. Sometimes it takes trial and error to find the right plug.

2. Plug the USB end of the cable into an empty slot on your computer. USB stands for Universal Serial Bus and is a way for your device to talk to your computer. The location of the USB port differs from computer to computer. Some are on the front, some are on the back and some have both.

3. Turn on your device if it is not already. Once you give power to your device, or once the computer detects the USB device has been plugged in, you will get a popup. The popup will ask you what you want to do with the memory stick. For this, we will choose the option that says to view the folder in which the files are. Double-click to open.

4. Choose a file within the folder by clicking on it. If you do not want to save this file to your computer, you can click "Delete" on your keyboard. It will ask if you are sure you want to delete; if you are, click "Yes."

If you want to save the file to your computer, minimize the window you are currently in and create a new folder on your desktop. Right-click on a blank space on the desktop, go to "New," then click "Folder." Name your folder. Go back to the window you were just in, and click the file again if you clicked off it. Resize the window so you can see it and the desktop at the same time. Click and drag the file into the folder you just created. This copies the file over. Once you have copied it, you can now delete it. Be sure to delete it from your memory stick, and not the folder you just copied it to.

5. Disconnect the cable from your device by turning the device off. You can then remove the cable from your computer and from your device.
