Bluetooth Cell Phone Work

Bluetooth Technology

The way Bluetooth works for a cell phone is similar to all other devices using Bluetooth technology, by using radio waves to transmit the cell phone signals to a wireless headset that is Bluetooth enabled. You can establish connections by either setting up access from a Bluetooth enabled cell phone to the Bluetooth compatible wireless device or, in the case of most new models, by letting the devices find each other by using radio waves.

The Bluetooth's core system consists of three components, the RF (radio drequency) transceiver, baseband and protocol stack. These three components enable the connection of devices and allow the exchange of data between Bluetooth capable devices.

Bluetooth Enabling

A Bluetooth capable cell phone has the search option to find the Bluetooth device you would want to use within range. Then the cell phone goes into a pairing mode. A user turns on the Bluetooth headset and the cell phone finds it. Once the Bluetooth cell phone finds the device, it will synchronize the two together. Once a user acknowledges or accepts the headset option provided it should start working. Every time a Bluetooth headset is powered on, it can always be used right away. However, a user can expect the occasional drop in signal.

Frequency and Power

Bluetooth uses an open frequency similar to that used by WiFi and other similar wireless devices using the 2.4GHz band frequency. Due to the low frequency used, there are no interferences experienced with other similar devices. In addition, by using low power signals, Bluetooth can also avoid interference. It is also capable of offering a range of up to 100 feet with data transfer rate of 1Mb per second.

Compatible Devices

As long as the cell phone has Bluetooth, it can work with other Bluetooth enabled devices, such as wireless headsets, MP3 devices, hand-held gaming devices, PDAs and car kits for hands-free operation. Having a wireless headset or car kits for hands-free operation is very important especially for driving in some states that have laws prohibiting using a cell phone by hands while driving. In addition, with an MP3 player, having a Bluetooth cell phone allows the transfer of streaming audio and video, provided they have these capabilities. You can send games between Bluetooth devices that support these functions for added entertainment. A Bluetooth cell phone makes life a little safer and hassle-free by allowing constant use anywhere without using wired connections. It also takes advantage of Bluetooth enabled accessories.

Tricks For Mobile Phone Repairs

Cell phones can be repaired at home with some basic know-how.

When electronic equipment breaks down, you may be tempted to just throw it away and buy new equipment. Not everyone, however, has the resources to replace damaged electronics. Mobile phones are no exception. Some phones run several hundreds of dollars, and replacing a damaged phone without warranty coverage can be expensive. It's a good idea to have some basic knowledge of cell phone repair, especially if there is only some minor damage.

Broken Display

A common problem with cell phones is a broken display faceplate. Many smartphones now come with crack-resistant covers, but this doesn't guarantee a shatter-free display. As long as the LCD display isn't damaged, replacing the glass cover is a relatively painless operation. Glass panels can be ordered online from cell phone companies. Open the cell phone and remove the battery, circuit board and aerial cover. In certain cases, a plastic cover is on top of the keyboard and display. Use your fingernail to remove this and the glass display panel; you can also use a credit card. Replace the broken glass faceplate with the new one, which should come with adhesive. Then replace the remaining parts.

Broken Hinge

If you haven't joined the world of smartphones yet, you may still be using a flip phone model. These cell phones rely on hinges to open and close the phone's display. If the hinge breaks or gets loose from wear and tear, replace it using a small T6 screwdriver and a pry tool, like a credit card. Remove LCD display screws and pry off the display, exposing more screws underneath. Remove those screws as well and lift the metal housing over the hinge pin. This pin can be removed and replaced with the screwdriver. Replace all parts and test for springiness.

Water Damage

Cell phones dropped into puddles or gutters can be salvaged.

One possible source of damage to your cell phone is nature's age-old enemy of electricity: water. If you happen to accidentally drop your phone into a gutter or puddle, it can be salvaged with some care. Turn off the inundated cell phone immediately and set it aside for a day to dry. Some cell phone batteries have a white strip attached on the back to gauge wetness. When the strip appears gray or off-white, the battery is still wet. As it dries, it becomes white again, which indicates that it is safe to turn the cell phone back on. If the phone has been submerged for a longer period of time, you may want to take the entire phone apart using a T6 screwdriver. Lay out each individual piece and let them dry for a day or two.

Make International Longdistance Calls Through The Internet

Make international phone calls through the Internet.

They typical phone call goes through a fiberoptic line, and when you're calling long distance, it comes with a high price tag. Recently, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) has become a popular alternative. In VoIP, your voice is transmitted through the Internet cables rather than the telephone cables, making calls much cheaper. In fact, if you use a VoIP client to connect to someone in another country using the same client, you won't have to pay a dime.

Instructions

1. Choose a VoIP company. Some of the most popular are Skype, Yahoo! Voice and Vonage. While computer-to-computer calls are usually free, you will have to pay when you call to a land line or a cell phone. These rates can vary from company to company, so compare the rates for the country that you will call most often.

2. Install the VoIP software client. Usually, you can download the file from the Internet, then run the .exe file if you own a PC or click on the .dmg file if you have a Mac. The Installation Wizard will walk you through the steps.

3. Look up the country code for the country that you are calling. Each country has its own country code. When you make your phone call, you'll have to start the number with this.

4. Follow the software's instructions to make a phone call. Usually, there will be a place to enter the full phone number, including the country code. You may have to precede the number with a symbol such as a "+" sign.

Skype Phone Connection Problems

Skype phones provide Skype access through a phone similar to most home phones.

Skype phones often resemble home telephone sets and allow people to make and receive calls through the Skype Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) service. This physical design is valuable for people looking to use Skype as a primary phone line. While Skype phones are convenient, they are subject to many of the same connection problems experienced by all Skype clients.

How Skype Phones Work

Similar in appearance to a home or office phone, Skype phones access the Skype network though an Internet connection. They are often connected to a home network through an ethernet port plugged into the base of the Skype phone. Skype phones are responsible for carrying, encoding, and decrypting Skype communications.

Client-side Skype Connection Problems

Occasionally, users will encounter issues with Skype phone connectivity. The main factors are validity of login information, wireless signal strength and home network speed. It is fairly easy to isolate client-side connection problems by checking these factors one by one.

Server-side Connection Problems

Skype service is fairly reliable. However, it is possible for servers to have hiccups along the way. This problem can occur due to Internet Service Provider (ISP) errors, making it necessary to reset your home connection. If you are having difficulty accessing other web services from your home connection, you might need to reset your Internet connection. Resetting your home router should provide a fresh connection, allowing you to connect to the Skype service.

Disable Side Buttons On A Phone

The volume buttons on the side of a cell phone increase sound on wireless Bluetooth headsets.

People can choose to handle and carry a cell phone in any fashion that suits personal preference. They can drop the device in the pocket of their pants or in a purse. Set Up A Bluetooth Headset As The Main Mic For Your Computer

A Bluetooth headset makes a great mobile companion for your laptop.

Bluetooth technology makes it possible to wirelessly connect all kinds of different devices to each other. Since they all use the same connection protocol, you can connect devices like hands-free headsets, intended for use with cell phones, to a Bluetooth-enabled computer to use as a microphone. Bluetooth headsets are less cumbersome than most headsets designed for computers, causing less discomfort with extended wear. Both the computer and headset need some setting up in order to use them in this way.

Instructions

1. Place your Bluetooth headset in "discovery" mode. Most headsets are placed in discovery mode by holding their main control button until the headset's indicator light turns a solid blue. Check the headset's manual for specific instructions if this doesn't work for you.

2. Open the "Start" menu on your computer and click "Devices and Printers." Click the "Add a device" button near the top of the window. Windows then searches for and displays wireless devices that are available to connect. Your headset should be listed.

3. Select the headset and click "Next." Input the headset's security passkey if prompted. Most headsets use "0000." Again, check the headset's manual if this key doesn't work for you.

4. Open "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu once the headset has been paired. Click "Hardware and Sound," then "Manage audio devices" in the "Sound" section.

5. Go to the "Recording" tab, select your headset from the list of devices, and click the "Set Default" button.

Import Pictures From A Cell Phone

Cell phones are more than a means of communication. They are capable of accessing the Internet, playing music, downloading games and even taking photos. It's handy to have a camera on your cell phone, since you can take pictures no matter where you are without having to remember to bring a camera. Most cell phones take high-quality photographs that can be saved on the phone and then uploaded to your personal computer or laptop.

Instructions

1. Take several pictures using your cell phone. Save them to the phone in the pictures folder. Go back into your phone after you are finished taking the pictures to double-check that they have been saved.

2. Insert the smallest end of the USB cable into your phone. Look for a small plug-in hole on the side of your cell phone, and gently push the end of the cable into it.

3. Plug in the larger end of the USB cable into your computer. Look for a USB slot either on the front or back side of your computer. Locate the slot that is marked "USB." Gently push the end of the cable into the slot.

4. Look for a window that will automatically pop up on your computer screen that gives you the option to import pictures. Choose the option to upload or import the pictures; there will be other options available, but they will not allow you to store the pictures in your computer.

5. Enter a name for the group of pictures you wish to import. Choose a name that describes the pictures so that you can go back and find them easily. Use a term that describes the event, place, date or people the photos relate to.

6. Click "Next" once you have chosen a name for the pictures. Wait as the pictures are uploaded from your phone into your computer. When the computer has finished importing the pictures, click "Finished." Disconnect the USB cable from both the computer and the phone. Go to the pictures file on your computer to view the pictures.

Find Vizio Lcd Tvs

Find Vizio LCD TV's near you.

Since 2003, Vizio has offered high quality, low-cost HDTVs with the idea that everyone deserves to enjoy the latest technology. It's no wonder that Vizio is one of the best selling brand names in the country, standing tall against giants like Samsung and Sony. As of 2010 ,Vizio boasts America's best selling--and highest rated--LED LCD TV on the market. Anyone looking to buy a Vizio LCD TV will not have to venture far off the beaten path to do so.

Instructions

1. Price out electronic retail distributors where Vizio products are sold. As of 2010, Vizio products can be found at the following stores: Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Circuit City, Sears, Kmart and BJ's. With many thousands of locations at your disposal, Vizio LCD TV's should not be terribly difficult to find.

2. See what online retail stores have to offer. Avoid the hustle and bustle of the retail stores by never setting foot in one. You can find many Internet-based stores that sell Vizio products at great prices. Vizio's own home website, www.vizio.com, offers Vizio's entire catalogue of LCD televisions. Others include www.amazon.com, www.ebay.com, www.dell.com and www.bizrate.com among others.

3. Buy from private sellers. You can go to www.craigslist.com to find local people who want to make a deal. The biggest perk to going about your search this way is that you may be able to find a price that can beat any retail store you might come across. The biggest drawback, however, is that you will almost certainly have no warranty protection for a possibly defective product.

Why Bluetooth Is Called Bluetooth

Bluetooth

The system that allows electronic devices to talk to each other over short distances without connecting cables is called Bluetooth. The system with the unusual name is barely a decade old, and it is already a central feature of dozens of different electronic devices and has won every new product award. To understand the unusual name, it is necessary to understand exactly what makes Bluetooth unique.

History

Bluetooth started in 1998, and won "best of show" at COMDEX in 1999. The first Bluetooth mobile phone and headset appeared in 2000, the first printer and laptop in 2001, first mouse and first digital camera in 2001, first stereo headphones in 2004, first watch in 2006 and first TV in 2007.

Function

Bluetooth allows systems to be wireless as long as the system is room sized or smaller. This is especially useful for "personal area networks"--wearable electronics. The headphones do not need wires to connect to the rest of the system

Features

With wires, what you put in one end of the wire you get out the other end of the wire. With Bluetooth, you can change the signal that is transmitted.

Identification

The system is named Bluetooth after the 10th-century Danish king Harold Bluetooth. Legend has it he earned that name because he ate so many blueberries that his teeth were stained blue. However, the quality that makes him relevant to wireless technology is that he was famous for getting warring factions to sit down and talk to each other. Bluetooth has unique software that allows very different devices to talk to each other.

Benefits

The chief benefit of Bluetooth is getting different components of small systems to communicate with each over small distances without wires. Recently an experimental airplane has been developed in Portugal that replaces wires and control cables with Bluetooth technology. This makes the airplane cheaper and more reliable.

Stop Unlisted Calls On A Cellphone

Avoid telemarketers or surveys by blocking unlisted numbers.

Telemarketers, debt collectors and survey firms use unlisted phone numbers to get you to answer their phone calls. Block these unlisted phone numbers so you no longer have to deal with these annoying phone calls.

Instructions

1. Visit the National Do Not Call Registries website and add your cell phone number to the do not call list. This will prevent telemarketer calls. If a telemarketer calls after you have signed up for this free service, report that number or agency on the Do Not Call website. You will have to provide your phone number and an email address for the free service. You will receive a confirmation email and will need to click on a link provided in that email to complete the registration for the service.

2. Contact your cell service provider and inquire about call restriction features or a service that will block private numbers. Once the service is activated, callers with an unlisted number will be directed to an automated system that explains your number does not accept unlisted calls.

3. Purchase an inbound call blocker. These blockers allow you to screen calls. If friends or family have an unlisted number, you can give them a code they can input after they call you. This code allows them to be an approved caller and successfully contact you.

Decipher Sim Card Unlock Codes

Figure out your SIM card's unlock code with unlocking software.

One way to decipher SIM card unlock codes is by downloading unlock software. This software allows you to unlock the code for any cell phone you have. To use the software, you must obtain an International Mobility Equipment Identification (IMEI) number from your phone. This number helps your software find the unlock code (or codes), including any specialized unlocking instructions. If you still have trouble deciphering your SIM card's unlock code, contact your cell-phone provider.

Instructions

1. Dial *#06# into your phone's keypad. This gives your 15-digit IMEI number, which you will need to unlock your phone.

2. Select an unlock software. Examples include Mobile Unlocked, Rebel SIM Card and SIM Guard. Download and install the software on your computer's desktop. Restart your computer.

3. Double-click the software on your desktop to launch it. Enter your 15-digit IMEI number. Select the model and manufacturer of your cell phone.

4. Remove the protective cover from the back of your cell phone. Take out the battery and old SIM card. Insert the new SIM card into your phone. Put the protective cover back on.

5. Follow the specialized instructions for unlocking your phone. Enter the unlock code found on your software. If it is the right network, your cell phone will access the network. If not, try the next code listed on the software.

Block A Phone Number On A House Phone

According to Federal Communications Commission rules, residential phone providers must provide free, easy-to-use per-line blocking and unblocking applications. These rules were established by the FCC to provide residential phone subscribers with a choice for delivering or blocking their phone number. However, it is important to note that the FCC does not regulate intrastate calls, only interstate calls. This guide will teach you block your house phone number from appearing on caller ID systems.

Instructions

1. Dial *67 to block your residential phone number from appearing on a recipient's Caller ID system, for example, dial *67-123-555-555. This is called per-call blocking and will not carry-over to subsequent phone numbers and must be dialed each time a phone call is placed.

2. To block your information from being transmitted every time you make a call, per-line blocking, you must request it from your residential phone service provider. This is often the option for individuals who have an unlisted number, are or have been a victim of stalking or harassment, operate a domestic violence shelter, or wish to remain anonymous while calling hotlines to report crimes or request sensitive services. If you have this service you must enter *82 if you want to unblock a call you are about to make.

3. Understand that you cannot prevent your information from being transmitted when you make a call to an 800, 888, 877, or 866 number because the recipient is paying for the call not you. The FCC does prohibit parties with toll-free numbers from reusing or selling your information.

4. Know that your information will never be blocked when dialling an emergency service number such as 911.

Use A Verizon Phone On Sprint

Most network providers lock cell phones to prevent them from being used with a competing network. If you would like to unlock your Verizon cell phone to use with the Sprint network, you will need a PUK code, or "Phone Unlock Code," to unlock it. Sometimes you have to pay for these codes through a third-party unlock code provider. You will still need a new memory card from the new service provider in order to use the phone with its network.

Instructions

1. Get the International Mobile Equipment Identity Number of your Verizon phone. You will need this number to unlock your phone. You can obtain this number by typing in "*#06#" on the phone's key pad. The IMEI will appear on the phone's screen shortly after entering the sequence.

2. Contact the Verizon Wireless customer service at 1-800-922-0204. Request that the representative unlock the phone or provide you with a code to do so. Provide the representative with the IMEI number. If the representative declines to give you an unlock code, you will most likely need to pay for the code through a third-party code unlock service provider.

3. Locate a website that provides unlock codes for a fee such as Wireless Unlocking, Unlock to Talk and The Unlock Shack. (See Resources.) Provide the website with the brand, model and IMEI number of the cell phone. You may also need to provide it with your phone carrier and country of service. Give the website your email address and follow the directions to have the unlock code emailed to you.

4. Power off the cell phone and pull off the battery cover from the back of the phone. Slide out the battery and pull out the SIM card. Push the battery back in and slide the battery cover back into place. Turn the power off on the phone and slide off the battery cover from the back. Log into your email and follow the unlock code provider's instructions on unlock your phone with the code.

5. Call Sprint's customer service department at 1-888-211-4727 and ask to speak with a representative. Explain to the representative that you would like to establish an account and activate an unlocked phone on the Sprint network. You may need to provide the representative with personal information such as your name, billing address and Social Security number. Sprint will most likely provide you with a new memory card in order to use the Verizon phone with its network.

What To Do If A Nokia 6300 Won'T Find The Memory Card

Use a large-capacity memory card to store your pictures.

The Nokia 6300 offers a memory card slot that holds a microSD card, allowing you to store data such as ring tones, text messages and photos. The Nokia 6300 does not recognize an incompatible, corrupted or incorrectly inserted microSD. In some cases, you may need to format the microSD card before the Nokia 6300 recognizes it.

Use a Compatible Card

The Nokia 6300 user manual suggests that you use a Nokia-approved microSD card with your phone. Nokia does not have a list of specific approved microSD cards, but in general, most high-quality cards work without any issues. Select a name-brand card with a proven track record of quality, such as Kingston, SanDisk or PNY. Extended capacity cards, also called microSDXC cards, are available, but do not use these. MicroSDXC cards have capacities ranging from 32GB up to 2TB. This card type fits in the microSD card slot, but it may not work in the Nokia 6300.

Insert the Card Properly

To get the Nokia 6300 to read the microSD card, you must insert it properly. Turn the phone over and press down on the battery cover. Slide the cover up and off. Find the microSD card slot on the side of the phone. Flip the microSD card over so the gold contacts face down and the logo faces up. Pick up the card by the plastic tip; try not to touch the gold contacts. Slide the card into the slot until you hear a click. Replace the battery cover.

Remove the Card Correctly

Removing the microSD card incorrectly may corrupt data stored on the card. If this happens, the Nokia 6300 will not recognize the card. When you want to remove the memory card, ensure that the phone is not using an application that has access to the card. For example, if you are listening to music or watching a video stored on the card, close the music or video player before you try to remove it. Slide off the battery cover. Locate the microSD card slot. Press on the microSD card to release it from the lock. The card pops out, allowing you to remove it safely.

Format the Card

Some microSD cards must be formatted before the Nokia 6300 can read them. To format a microSD card in the phone, go to "Menu" and "Applications." Select "Memory Card," "Options," "Format memory card" and "Yes." After formatting, type a name for the card. To format the card on your computer, insert the card into an adapter or card reader. Click "Start" and "Computer." Right-click the microSD card's name and select "Format." This process deletes all data on the card. Save the data you want to keep before formatting.

Stabilize The Si Joint

The sacroiliac joint connects the spine to the pelvis.

The sacroiliac joints (SI joints) are formed by the sacrum of the spine and the pelvis. These joints absorb shock transmitted through the legs and disperse forces from the upper body to the pelvis and legs. There is minimal mobility at the SI joints --- it is statically stabilized by ligaments connecting bone to bone, and it is dynamically stabilized by surrounding muscles. Ligament stability can only be improved through surgical reinforcement; however, SI joint stability can be improved by strengthening the muscles around it.

Instructions

1. Perform the pelvic tilt exercise to increase stability. Lay on your back on a supportive surface. Bend your knees and place your feet flat on the surface. Tighten your pelvic abdominal muscles by pulling in your bellybutton, as you flatten your lower back. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat ten times. As you advance, add marching --- lifting each foot off the ground alternately, as you maintain the pelvic tilt.

2. Sit on the exercise ball with your feet flat on the ground. Slowly lift one arm to 90 degrees, hold for 5 seconds; then, repeat with the opposite arm. Tighten your abdominal and lumbar muscles to maintain your balance. Repeat ten times. To advance, alternately march your legs while maintaining your posture on the ball. When you are able to complete three sets of ten, try lifting alternate arms and legs at the same time.

3. Move into a quadruped --- hands and knees --- position. Lift one arm out in front of you while keeping your back and pelvis straight. Hold for 5 seconds; then, switch to the opposite arm. The same exercise can be performed by lifting one leg at a time. As you advance, lift the left arm and right leg simultaneously, hold for 5 seconds and switch to the opposite side. Perform ten times on each side. To advance this exercise, strap 1-lb. cuff weights on your wrists or ankles.

Create Music

Reading music while playing an instrument is one way to create music, though not the only way.

Music is everywhere. Radios, MP3 players and concerts are all great sources for music, but so are nature and our everyday surroundings. Anyone can create music. While professional musicians spend years studying harmony and music theory to perfect their craft, other people create music everyday through casual instrument playing, singing, or just making noise using a variety of tools or instruments. Piano, guitar, and drums are all instruments, but so are voices, pots and pans, a pair of wooden sticks, or just about any other object you can use to create rhythm or pitch.

Instructions

1. Find an instrument to create music. Purchase or rent a guitar, saxophone, drum set, piano, or just about any other instrument you have the desire to play.

Your voice also can make music; no rental or purchase is necessary.

Alternatively, use an everyday item as your instrument. People used to play the washboard if they could not afford to buy an instrument-it was an accessible household item. An empty glass bottle is an instrument if you want it to be, and so is your foot when you tap it on the floor.

Anything that produces sound that excites or entices you is an instrument.

2. Play your instrument. If you chose a non-traditional instrument such as a glass bottle, play it however you like until you produce the sound you are after.

Sing. Project notes or rhythms using your vocal cords and mouth, or whistle.

If you choose a traditional instrument such as a guitar or piano, play around a bit on the instrument to make music. Get a feel for how the instrument works and sounds.

3. Take a lesson, if you choose to create music in a traditional way. The lesson will teach you a few important fundamentals: technique, tune, and basic notes and chords. Practice what you learned in the lesson for several days. If you still enjoy playing the instrument after a few days of absorbing and practicing the material from your initial lesson, take another lesson, or buy a beginning-level book that teaches play the instrument and provides different exercises and songs to practice.

If no lessons are available for your chosen instrument, continue to play it and develop your own technique. Play whatever you enjoy. Anything you play or sing is creating music.

4. Continue playing on a regular basis. Practice to get better. Ask like-minded friends or family members to play along. You can create music alone or with other people. It is important to enjoy yourself as you create music.

Learn to read music if you desire. Not all musicians read music, but if you are serious about creating music as a part of your life, it is a good skill to have.

5. Create music on your computer. Computers give people the ability to compose and create music without having to play an instrument. Several programs exist that allow you to compose music, whether it is symphonic compositions for an orchestra or electronic beats for a dance club. Sites including soundjunction.org and jamstudio.com allow you to create music directly on the website. You can also acquire programs such as Ableton Live or Mixxx to create music on your computer and save as digital songs.

My Razr 3 Won'T Turn On

If your Motorola RAZR V3 refuses to turn on, hold off on buying a replacement until you have narrowed down the source of the issue and have had the opportunity to resolve it on your own.

Liquid Damage

If the RAZR has been exposed to moisture, internal circuits responsible for delivering power from the battery may have shorted out. An easy way to check for this is to remove the battery and look inside its compartment for a small, round sticker about the circumference of a pencil top eraser. If the sticker is red, then the phone is likely liquid damaged and will need to be sent in for repair or replaced. If the sticker is white, then the issue may be the battery.

Battery Damage

Inspect the battery for any signs of melting or discoloration. If such symptoms are discovered, it is likely that the battery became too hot at some point and accrued damage. You will need to contact your carrier to discuss replacement options.

If the battery looks normal, check for dirt or lint that might have collected in between the gold-colored contacts on the battery. Grime can prevent the battery from connecting properly to the phone and should be cleaned gently with a cotton swab and a small dab of rubbing alcohol.

Connection Pins

Carefully inspect the gold connectors on the bottom edge of the battery compartment. If any of the pins are bent, you can carefully bend them back into position to restore proper power to your RAZR. If any of the pins are broken, you will need to contact your carrier to discuss replacement or repair options.

Unseen Damage

If the phone is not liquid damaged and both the battery and the connector pins show no signs of problems, there may be internal hardware failures that are difficult to diagnose without taking apart the phone. Contact your carrier to facilitate an in-warranty exchange (if available) or obtain information on send in your phone for repair.

Change The Battery In A Bmw Key

BMW master keys have built-in batteries that can unlock the car remotely. The battery recharges when the key is inserted in the ignition. Changing the battery for a BMW key is a simple matter. Unfortunately, BMW doesn't give instructions in its manuals for this simple procedure. However, you still can do it yourself.

Instructions

1. Purchase the correct battery for your car model. Because of the variety of BMW keys and car models, the table is not recreated here. The E39 takes a CR2016, for example. The 325CI takes a VL2020. A dealership should be able to tell you what battery size you need.

Alternatively, open the circular cover over the battery to read the size number off the back of the battery. Have the battery ready for the switch before you open the key, since you have to accomplish this task within 60 seconds to avoid having to reprogram the key.

2. Unscrew the two screws at one end of the fob, if your BMW is a 2001 model or older. Then, pull open the fob and replace the battery. Accomplish this in less than one minute to avoid losing the encryption.

3. Pry open the circular cover over the battery. Undo the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Swap out the battery and then replace the screws. Accomplish this step in 60 seconds on working keys to avoid losing remote-entry programming.

4. Use a pocketknife on other keys. Stand the key with the metal part pointed up and drive a pocketknife down into the seam between two plastic parts. A penknife won't give you enough leverage to do this. Make the separation in the seam carefully. Pull out the battery. Put in the new battery. Seal the seam closed with glue for plastic. Perform this step in 60 seconds to avoid having to reprogram a working remote.

Udp Checksum Calculation

The UDP checksum is a security measure for data transmissions.

The User Datagram Protocol, or UDP, packages data in packets for transport across networks. A data packet contains the data in the packet body, and has a series of headers in front of the data that help the packet get to its destination. The UDP header is short, but it contains a complicated method for calculating a checksum. The checksum enables the receiver to verify that the data packet has arrived intact.

Function

UDP is a transport protocol and is part of the network protocol suite called TCP/IP. TCP/IP stands for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. The best known protocol of this suite is the Internet Protocol, which defines the IP address. The IP header is placed at the front of a data packet. Behind this, and before the data is the UDP header. Whereas the IP header contains the source and destination address of the two computers in the network transaction, the UDP header identifies the sending and receiving applications. These applications are recorded not by name, but by a reference number, called a port number.

UDP Header

A UDP header contains only two words. A "word" is a 32-bit binary number, which covers 4 bytes of data. The first work contains the source and destination port number. Each of these fields is 16 bits long. The second word also contains two fields, each 16 bits in length. These are the UDP Length field and the Checksum field. The UDP Length field records the size of the UDP header and the data body of the packet in bytes. The UDP checksum field is optional.

Checksum Calculation

The checksum in the UDP header is the "ones compliment" sum of sixteen bit words in the UDP header and the data body of the packet. The formula cannot cope with an odd number of bytes and so if the number of bytes in the data section of the packet is odd, the calculating program adds an all-zero padding byte to the end of the data. This ensures that the packet contains complete 16-bit words. The padding byte is only for the purpose of calculating the checksum. It is not transmitted with the packet. Next, the program creates a "pseudo header"which goes on the front of the UDP header. This contains address information taken from the IP header. Next, the number of 16-bit chunks of data are counted and the resulting number, expressed as binary is flipped over so that ones become zeros and zeros become ones.

Confirmation

The receiving program performs the same calculation. If the results are not the same, the packet is discarded, though no error message is sent back to the sender.

2. Write down the phone's IMEI and SIM card number. The IMEI can be found on a sticker behind the phone's battery (which you've already taken out). The SIM card number is printed on one side of your SIM card.

3. Put the phone back together and power it on.

4. Call your wireless provider from another phone and ask to speak with someone about PUK unlocking.

5. Provide the representative with information from the phone and SIM.

6. Put the given code into the PUK lock screen to unlock your phone and SIM.
