Unlock Phones To All Networks

General Cell Phone

Unlocking a cell phone allows that device to be used on multiple carriers which support the phones calling frequency abilities. GSM based phones can be unlocked and then used with SIM cards from carriers around the world. The process for unlocking these phones remains similar in nature, regardless of the phone manufacturer or phone model.

Instructions

Unlocking Phones For Multi-Carrier Use

1. Find your phones calling frequency capabilities. This information is available on the manufactures website, inside the phones manual or through popular online service GSMArena. The available frequencies are 850Mhz, 900Mhz, 1800Mhz and 1900Mhz. Many phones will feature two or more frequencies (dual-band, tri-band and quad-band).

2. Remove your phones battery and located the stick on the back of your phone. Write down the IMEI number found on that sticker. Some phones provide a code you can enter to find the IMEI number (check the manufacturer website and phone manual).

3. Visit a popular unlocking service. Two trusted sites include GSMLiberty and Unlocking.com which have been in business for multiple years.

4. Enter in your cell phone manufacture and model number on the website you choose. You will need to provide payment info along with your phones IMEI number when checking out.

5. Wait for your unlock code to arrive via email. Unlock codes can take 2-14 days to arrive (phone model dependent).

6. Enter the unlock code exactly as provided. Typically you will need to insert a SIM card from a carrier outside of the phones current carrier and then enter the code when prompted. However, different steps may be required with certain handsets.

7. Turn the phone off and then back on (some phones will auto reset themselves). Wait 15-20 seconds for signal strength. If a signal appears make a phone call and receive one call to verify the unlock procedure was successful.

Find Your Misplaced Phone

Misplacing or losing your cellphone can be an extremely frustrating experience. As cellphones become a bigger part of our lives --- and a bigger burden to our wallets --- misplacing one becomes a more serious matter. Luckily with technology improving, there are new and better ways to find your misplaced cellphone. There are also ways to protect yourself and information if you are not going to get the misplaced cellphone back. While there are some high-tech ways to retrieve your cellphone, sometimes just calling your own number and listening is your best bet.

Instructions

Finding Lost Cell Phone

1. When first purchasing a cell phone, you should always remember to write down the device's IMEI, MEID or ESN number. This is located on a sticker underneath the battery. The three numbers on your phone will depend upon which type of brand it is. This number can be used to track it down if it is lost.

2. If your service provider is AT&T you can purchase the FamilyMap for $10/month. This app uses a GPS system to locate the phone if it is misplaced.

3. If your lost phone happens to be an Apple iPhone, you can log on to the MobileMe feature. From there, go to the Find My iPhone feature. This will take you to a screen that shows the location of your phone on a Goggle map screen.

4. Some Android smartphones have a similar app called Mobile Defense. You can log on to this app's website and log in your number, and it will locate the phone's position by GPS.

5. An effective, low-tech way to find your misplaced cell phone is to send a text to your number offering a reward for returning the misplaced cellphone. Include a number at which you can be reached. If the person calls, set up a meeting at a safe place and exchange the reward for the misplaced cellphone.

Antiviruses For Phones

Protect your smartphone with an anti-virus software program.

Smartphones allow you to browse the Internet on the go, but this convenience also exposes your phone to potential hackers and virus attacks. Mobile phone virus software programs protect your phone from attacks just like standard antivirus software protects your computer. Certain programs are only for specific mobile phones. Always read which phones the antivirus software covers before purchasing or downloading it.

Kaspersky

The Kaspersky Mobile Security 9 program comes with a firewall and virus scanner to protect your phone while you surf the Internet. It also protects your information if your phone is lost or stolen, and has a phone-finder system to help you locate your phone. It features a privacy mode to hide your calls, texts or contacts. Antivirus 2.6 is a free program designed specifically for Android phones. It monitors your phone for suspicious activity and has an auto-scan feature that automatically runs virus scans on your phone at regular intervals. It also has a phone-finder feature, as well as a backup and restore option that saves your data if your phone gets corrupted. While this program is free, you will see ads when you access the application. The program is compatible with Android phones that have the following operating systems: 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3.

Zebra

The Zebra VirusCleaner for Windows Mobile 1.0 retails for $14.95, as of 2011, but you can try the program for free for 30 days. The program scans your phone, including your Internet connection and SMS and MMS texts. It has a built-in firewall to keep hackers and viruses from accessing your phone, and the program also protects your files from becoming corrupt. You can scan for viruses manually or automatically. You must contact the company or an authorized reseller for the latest pricing information.

Block Unwanted Calls To Your Cell Phone

Privacy Corps

If you're tired of the telemarketers, not only calling your cell phone, but texting your mobile phone as well, here's a definite way to stop the Cell Phone Harassment! There are ways to stop unwanted solicitation, and intrusive calls to your telephone. Here's how.

Instructions

1. The first thing you can do is to make sure your cell phone number is unlisted. This is a simple step but it's the first step in keeping unwanted calls from your cell phone.

2. You can unmask the Caller ID on blocked incoming calls, obtain the phone number, and in some cases the name and address, of the "anonymous caller" by using a service called "TrapCall." You can also listen to your voicemail over the Internet.

TrapCall allows you to unmask numbers, record your calls, voicemail transcriptions, block unwanted callers, and gives you caller id for your cell phone. See resource link.

3. Register your number with the "National and State Do Not Call Lists." The National Do Not Call list is run by the Federal Trade Commission and you can sign up online at the resource link below.

4. Even after signing up for the "Don't Call List" and getting that unpublished number there are still those times when the telemarketer finds a way to get through. You can also get unwanted calls from ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends'. These people have your number from your previous relationship. You don't want to change your number, but a few over-zealous ex-mates may not go down without a fight and will continue to call after you have told them to stop! In this case, you'll need a call blocking device. These devices allow you to control who calls you, and gives you the ability to permanently block their numbers. See the resource link at bottom of article for a list of these devices.

5. Set up an account with "Reverse Phone Detective" service in order to find out the Unknown numbers that appear on your caller display. This will allow you to see who and where the number is coming from. Check the resource link "Reverse Phone Detective" below.

6. Don't rely on your cell phone provider to block unwanted calls for you. For some inexplicable reason, most carriers do not provide you with the ability to block unwanted callers.

Why Is My Netbook Not Recognizing My Phone

Phones can be synced to a netbook via a USB cable.

Connecting a netbook to a mobile phone allows you to transfer information quickly. They are ideal portable companions but if your netbook is not recognizing your phone, try some basic checks.

Software Drivers

If syncing your phone via a universal serial bus (USB) cable, check that the necessary software drivers are installed on the netbook. Download drivers from the phone manufacturer's website, or install via the CD included with the phone. Try erasing current drivers and reinstalling them in case they have become corrupted.

USB Cable

USB cables break if tugged or dropped, so connect another device or computer to check that your USB cable works.

Bluetooth Pairing

For a Bluetooth connection, pair the phone with the netbook by selecting the pairing option from the Bluetooth menu of either device.

Bluetooth Cloaking

Your phone may be paired with the netbook but not visible. In the Bluetooth menu on your phone, select the option to enable visibility.

Wi-Fi

For home Wi-Fi networks, enable wireless sync in the network settings menu on your netbook. This is so that it knows look for the phone.

Incompatible Hardware

The phone may not be compatible with your netbook operating system. Online customer service for either manufacturer should be able to verify this. Common phone compatibility problems can occur between Microsoft Windows-based and Mac operating systems.

Read Sim Cards

SIM cards hold a cell phone user's account information, which allows the cell phone handset to operate on the user's cell phone service provider network. The SIM card also holds a user's phone book. Some SIM cards also hold the phone setting information, media such as photos and text messages.

Instructions

1. Turn off the SIM-capable cell phone handset. If the SIM card that you want to read is not already in the handset, you will need to insert it into the handset. The handset must either be an unlocked cell phone or a cell phone that is on the same network that the SIM card is programmed to access.

2. Remove the back casing of the cell phone handset. Most phones have the SIM card slot under the battery. Lift off the backing (or just the battery depending on the cell phone model) and locate the SIM card slot. If there is already a SIM card in there, remove it by lifting up the metal holding clip and sliding the card out.

SIM cards are usually small white square shaped cards, about the size of the average human thumbnail. There is gold circuitry printed on the card as well.

3. Place the SIM card that you want to read into the SIM card slot. Slide the SIM card into place, ensuring that the gold circuitry printed on the SIM card lines up with the gold connector lines in the SIM card slot. Usually the card is placed face down to achieve this. Snap the holding clip back into place.

4. Replace the battery and the backing of the phone. Turn the cell phone back on. Wait a few seconds for the phone to access the network. If the cell phone is able to work on the network that the SIM card is associated with, the SIM card will be able to be read on the cell phone.

5. Access the SIM card information by using the cell phone keypad to navigate the menu. Use the phonebook menu to view the SIM card phone book and the text message menu to view any text messages. Browse the cell phone's on-screen menu such as photos and settings. Any information stored on the SIM card will be accessible if the card is compatible with the cell phone.

Hang Up Wallpaper Borders

Wallpaper borders are a simple, inexpensive way to add style to any room in your house. While traditional wallpapering projects can be fairly intimidating to the novice wall paper hanger, wallpaper borders are actually relatively easy to install. With a few supplies, a family member or friend to help with the project and an eye for detail, you can hang a wallpaper border in virtually any room in your house in an afternoon. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Select a room to put up your wallpaper border in. If you have never added a border before, consider starting with a small room such as the bathroom, kitchen or laundry room. You can move on to larger rooms once you have wallpapered small areas and built up confidence in your skills.

2. Measure the length of the walls you plan to wallpaper to determine how many rolls of wallpaper border you need to purchase. Most borders are sold in 5-yard rolls; remember to purchase enough rolls so that you have a few extra feet of border in the event of mistakes.

3. Select a wallpaper border that is pre-pasted. This will make the project much easier, especially if you have never hung a wallpaper border before. Beginner wall paper hangers should avoid buying borders that require the user to add glue.

4. Decide where you want to hang the border. Most wallpaper borders are hung at the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling or at chair-rail height, which is placed 1/3 of the distance from the floor to the ceiling. The best project for a beginner is to install the border at the top of the wall, because you don't have to worry about making it level. (If you do decide to hang a chair-rail border, be sure to use a level when marking where you border will be placed.)

5. Fill the plastic tub with warm water, then gently submerge the border in the water. The border will become sticky as it absorbs the water. Ask your friend to hold the other end of the paper to help prevent tears.

6. Begin placing your wallpaper border on the wall, starting at one corner of the room and allowing an inch or two to overlap the corner. This piece will later be cut off after the paper has dried, ensuring that you have a straight edge.

7. Use the wet sponge to gently rub out any air pockets in the border as you hang it on the wall, paying particular attention to the corners. Small adjustments can be made to the wallpaper border before the glue sets; simply use your hands to gently slide the paper into its proper place. Use up the entire roll before starting a new one since the wet paper is difficult to cut.

8. Check the new roll before wetting it to ensure that the patterned edge matches up perfectly with the edge of the roll you just finished hanging. Use the razor and cutting surface to cut the edge of the new roll to match up with the pattern on the finished piece.

9. Repeat Steps 1 to 8 until the entire room has been papered.

Unlock A Nokia 6670

All Nokia 6670 phones have unique unlock codes to remove the wireless network restrictions imposed by the wireless provider company. Wireless networks install a program that locks the use of SIM cards from other companies before issuing the phone. The unlock code lifts this restriction and permits the customer to use the mobile with any carrier. Many wireless companies will give you the subsidy unlock code if you have been a client for at least three months.

Instructions

1. Type *#06# on the 6670 to display the IMEI number. The IMEI distinguishes your particular device from all other Nokia 6670 phones and is required to generate a working unlock code.

2. Call the customer service number of your cell provider. Request the subsidy unlock from the customer service representative. Some companies have a policy that requires representatives to provide the unlock code to customers who have been with the company for a certain amount of time. Each wireless carrier has its own criteria, but it is usually between 60 and 90 days.

3. Turn off the phone and remove the SIM card from behind the battery. Insert the battery and turn the phone on.

4. Type #pw+CODE+1#, or #pw+CODE+7# for Canadian users, and the phone will display "Network Restriction Off." The phone is now ready for use on any network. Replace "CODE" with the subsidy unlock code provided by your cell provider.

Replace T111 Siding On House

T-111 siding is untreated. The paint covering the siding is the only protection the siding has from moisture intrusion. Even the most well painted siding can become damaged by moisture. Replacing the T-111 siding on your house is a major project that is best broken down into sections. Houses with T-111 rarely have sheathing under the siding and when you remove the T-111, the studs and wall insulation will be exposed. Therefore, the T-111 siding you remove needs to be replaced the same day to avoid disruption of the insulation or water damage to the wood studs and sub-floor. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove all the trim from the wall having the siding replaced. Wedge the pry bar under the trim. Pry away from the wall to lift the trim and loosen the nails holding the trim in place. Work the pry bar along the entire length of trim.

2. Inspect the installation of the windows. If the windows are mounted on top of the T-111, you will need to remove the windows before proceeding.

3. Determine the lap of the siding. Siding is installed in one direction. The last piece of siding installed will have an outside lap. This is the first piece of siding that you need to remove. Work the pry bar under the siding at the outside corner. Pry away from the wall. Work your way along the vertical length of the siding. When the corner is free, pull the siding away from the house, removing nails as necessary.

4. Apply the vapor barrier to the studs. Staple the vapor barrier to each stub to hold it in place. Remove the vapor barrier from window and door openings. Staple the cut ends to the framing studs located around the window or door openings.

5. Measure, layout, and cut the first piece of T-111 siding. Nail the T-111 siding to the wall. Start the first nail 2 inches from the edge of the siding and then place the nails 12 inches apart.

6. Layout holes that you encounter on the T-111 siding. Measure the hole from the edge of the last installed sheet of siding. Keep in mind that each panel of siding has an overlap. Transfer the measurements from the wall to the backside of the siding, subtracting the overlap from the measurement.

7. Drill a 3/8th inch hole at two opposing corners of the hole that you need to cut from the T-111 siding. Insert the jigsaw blade into the 3/8th inch hole. Cut one line and return to the 3/8th inch hole and cut the line perpendicular to the last cut line. Perform the same steps on the opposing corner.

8. Reinstall the trim on the wall after all the T-111 siding is installed. Caulk the trim. Do not caulk the corner trim to the T-111 siding that has yet to be replaced. Prime and paint the siding after the caulk has cured.

Make Weather Instruments

Tracking the weather conditions in your area can be fun and educational. Creating your own instruments to record weather conditions in your area will provide you with accurate records that reflect your particular location. You will no longer be dependent on the weather reports to find out exactly how much rain you got in your area. Reports are wonderful, but they often rely on averages that may or may not be accurate for your specific area. Let's face it, your tomatoes really don't care how much rain your neighbors got last night, but they do care how much you got. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Rain Gauge

1. Select a clean jar that is cylinder shaped. An old olive jar will work well, but you can use any jar that has straight sides and the mouth is the approximately the same size as the jar width.

2. Purchase a funnel that is the same size as the mouth of the jar. Be careful here. If you use a large funnel on a small jar, the results will not be accurate.

3. Mark inches on the side of the jar with a permanent marker. Be sure to measure accurately and to include the 1/2 and 1/4 inch marks. It is doubtful that you will need to measure rainfall in smaller increments.

4. Place the funnel in the jar and tape in place to prevent the funnel from being blown out by strong winds.

5. Set the rain gauge in an open area. Do not set it under trees or buildings where it will collect runoff from objects when it rains.

6. Measure the rainfall by reading the markings on the side of the jar. Record your readings in a weather journal, if you wish. Be sure to date the entry for future reference.

Weather Vane

7. Cut a 2 inch arrow from the tag board. The straight edge of the arrow should be about 1 1/2 inches long and the point should extend to 2 inches. Exact measurements are not necessary. This will be the pointer portion of the weather vane.

8. Cut a 3 inch rectangle from tag board or lightweight cardboard for the tail. Create a slight V notch in the tail.

9. Make 1/4 inch slits in both ends of the drinking straw and attach the arrow and the tail to the straw. Use a dab of glue to hold in place. You have now created the pointer for your weather vane.

10. Use a straight pin (quilter's pins work great) to attach the pointer to a the top of a pencil. Simply push the pin through the center of the straw and into the eraser of the pencil so that the weather vane is perpendicular to the pencil.

11. Form a small lump from the clay and insert the sharpened end of the pencil in to the clay. The pencil should stand erect when the clay is placed on a solid surface.

12. Mark the ordinal directions on a paper plate. It is up to you have detailed you would like to get, but North, South, East and West are the minimum requirements.

13. Use a compass to determine directions. Set the paper plate on a flat outside surface and stick the clay to the plate. Be sure to align the directions noted on the paper plate with the actual compass readings.

14. Observe the direction that the arrow points when the wind blows it. This is the direction the wind is coming from.

Replace An Iphone 4 Battery

The iPhone 4 can connect to any open wireless network.

The iPhone 4 provides HD video recording, 3G Internet access and a GPS navigation system. The previous versions of the iPhone made it very difficult for the user to replace the phone battery themselves. The company redesigned the iPhone 4 to make replacing the battery much easier for consumers. Now instead of sending the device back to Apple for a replacement you can replace the battery yourself in a few minutes.

Instructions

1. Lay the iPhone on a flat surface with the display facing upward. Look for the two screws next to the iPhone's docking slot.

2. Remove both screws from the iPhone. Unscrew each piece carefully to avoid damage to the phone's internal components.

3. Lift up the iPhone with two hands. Flip the device around so that the back faces you. Press both thumbs on the back cover of the device. Slide the back cover away from you with your thumbs. 4. Set the iPhone on a flat surface. The battery will be the large rectangular object with the "Li-ion" label on it. Arrange the iPhone so that the wording on the battery's label is upright. Remove the small screw in the lower left corner of the battery.

5. Examine the small piece of metal that the previous screw held in place. Wedge the iPhone opening tool into the gap between the phone's body and the metal piece. Pry this metal piece away from the phone until it is loose enough to remove by hand. Pull out the piece and place it off to the side.

6. Lift the iPhone's battery out of the device using the clear plastic tab on its left. Pull very slowly to avoid damaging the iPhone's internal parts. Insert the new iPhone battery into the body. Make sure the battery sits in the same position as the previous one. Return the small metallic piece back to its original position with the screw and your Phillips-head screwdriver. Screw the back cover back onto the device with the two original 3.6 mm screws.

Find A Bluetooth Passcode

You can easily pair Bluetooth devices with a passcode.

Bluetooth is a quick and easy way to wirelessly connect two electronic devices. Bluetooth is typically used to connect cell phones and PDAs to hands-free devices such as headsets and speakerphones, but it also can be used to connect those devices to computers and MP3 players. In order to connect two Bluetooth devices, you need to find the passcode, or "pairing code," for the device. Locating it is typically fairly simple to do.

Instructions

1. Look on the back of your headset or speakerphone for the Bluetooth passcode for the device. Typically the pairing code for headsets is printed on a sticker that is then placed on the underside of the accessory.

2. Go into the Bluetooth menu on your cell phone to find the passcode for your cell phone. The Bluetooth menu for your phone is typically located under the "Settings" menu. In the Settings menu, there should be an option to "Get code" or something comparable, which would allow you to find the code for your phone.

3. Go into the Settings menu for your computer to find its Bluetooth passcode. Some laptops will randomly generate a new Bluetooth passcode for you each time you want to pair them with a new device. In that case, the menu setting you're looking for is something like "Generate new pairing code."

4. Look in the instruction book for your Bluetooth accessory if you cannot find the passcode attached to the device or in its menu. Many manufacturers will print the passcode for devices in their instruction book. If you still can't find the passcode, try using four zeros, which is often the default for many devices.

5. Look in online forums for the passcode for your device if you are still having trouble finding it. Do a search in Google similar to "Nokia N98 Bluetooth Pairing Code." That search will typically bring you to a forum or help page that will have the pairing code for your device.

Make Free Long Distance Calls With Google Maps

Google Map Logo

Google Maps and other Internet and satellite technology have taken cartography to a whole new level. With a few clicks, you can get directions to just about anyplace you would like to go. Google Maps was one of the very first services to make this technology available at no charge, and it also offers the opportunity to make free local and long distance calls. Google's click-to-call feature is not available for residential or cell phones, just businesses.

Instructions

1. Go to the Google Maps home page (see Resources below). Type in the name of the business you would like to call, as well as the city it is in. For example, you could enter "Papa John's Pizza, Lees Summit, MO."

2. The Google search results page will have a pop-up displaying the company's information such as its address.

3. Locate a green telephone icon in the pop-up that says "Call." Alternatively, there may just be a link next to the contact information. This will be displayed for any business that has this feature available.

4. Click on the telephone icon and enter your phone number when prompted. Click the connect button. Google Map's click-to-call feature will automatically connect you to the business with an incoming call to your phone.

5. Pick up your phone when it rings. You will hear the phone ring at the other end. When the business phone is answered, go ahead with your call as if you had called directly.

Take Apart A Razr 2

If you want to change the SIM card in your Motorola Razr 2, modify the keypad or repair any components, you will need to disassemble the phone. The Razr 2 can be taken apart with some simple tools in under one hour.

Instructions

1. Make sure the Razr 2 is completely turned off by pressing and holding the "End Call" button on the keypad. Wait for the screen to go blank and disappear before proceeding to Step 2.

2. Remove the battery cover. Turn the Razr 2 over and lay it on a flat surface. Open the battery cover by inserting the flathead screwdriver into the top of the battery cover holder and pushing gently upward to lift it. Remove the cover and set it aside.

3. Remove the SIM card, located to the righthand side of the phone underneath a small silver "belt." Hold the top of the SIM card with your fingers and gently slide it out of the holder.

4. Remove the base of the phone. Use the T6 screwdriver to unscrew the two T6 screws on both sides of the phone, underneath the battery. Remove them completely and set aside. Pop off the bottom of the phone by sliding the SIM card under the base and prying off the bottom cover with your fingers.

5. Remove the case holder. Fold open the Razr 2 and you'll find a small gold-colored tab holding the two halves of the phone together. Remove this piece using the flathead screwdriver so that the phone is now in two pieces.

6. You will see six metal tabs around one panel of the inside of the phone that hold the keypad in place; lift these up using your flathead screwdriver and bend them back slightly so that you can lift the keypad cover. Pull the keypad out carefully.

7. Remove the small rubber dots on all four corners of the screen; these are covering up a screw underneath. Pop off the dots and then unscrew the screws; use the SIM card or your fingers to separate the cover and screen from the base of the phone.

Change Bluetooth Headsets

Switching Bluetooth headsets on your mobile phone is simple.

Bluetooth headsets allow you to talk on your phone hands-free, leaving both hands available to do things such as drive a car or type on a computer. If you've been using a Bluetooth headset with your phone and want to switch that headset out for a different one, pairing a new Bluetooth headset with your mobile phone is as simple as it was to pair the original.

Instructions

1. Power on the new Bluetooth headset you would like to pair with your mobile phone.

2. Go into the Bluetooth menu of your mobile phone (typically located under "settings") and select "Find a New Device" from the available options.

3. Select your new headset from the list of devices that appears, and when prompted enter the pairing code for your headset. The pairing code is a series of numbers found on a sticker on your new headset or in its instruction book.

4. Start using your new headset with your phone. Your new Bluetooth headset will be permanently connected to your mobile phone with no need to repeat the pairing process.

5. Remove your old headset pairing by selecting "Paired Devices" from the Bluetooth menu, selecting your old list of devices from the list that appears and then selecting "Remove" from the on-screen options. It is not necessary to remove your old headset to use a new one.

Legally Make Demo Games Into Full Version Games

Playing computer games can be great fun.

Playing a demo of a PC game is a great way to get a feel for the game so that you can better make the decision of whether you want to buy the entire game or not. The demo for a PC game is often also put out in advance of the game itself, making it the only available way to play the game. So when the game comes out, or you decide you like the demo and want to buy the game, it's often more convenient to turn a demo in to a fully licensed game rather than reinstall the full game.

Instructions

1. Find the registration form. Most demos of games will point this form out with a prompt when you open or close the game but on some games you may have to look for it. Check at the main menu screen for anything that refers to purchasing the full game or registering your product. If there are drop down menus at the top of the screen, check there too. Often if there's a help menu you can find the payment or registration form there.

2. Pay for your game. You will almost always have to pay to upgrade the demo of a game to the full version. Occasionally you'll find a software developer who just wants a bit of information about who is using his game, but typically, full games cost money.

3. Download additional game information. Often the demo of a game will give you access to only to a small part of a game and upon purchasing or registering for the full game you will have to download or otherwise acquire the rest of the game.

4. Restart the game. Upon purchasing the game or downloading additional game information you will likely be prompted to restart the game. If you're not prompted to do this, there's no harm in trying the game out but if you find you're still playing the demo, usually all that's needed is for you to restart the game.

How Long Does A Cell Phone Battery Charge Last

Cell phones are common place in today's society and most have likely experienced the familiar pain of having a phone battery die during inopportune times. Cell phones are powered by batteries that require regular recharges. The amount of time you use your phone and the number of applications it executes will all affect how long a battery will last before it has to be recharged.

Cell Phone Power

All cell phones depend on a lithium ion battery to operate. Batteries are rechargeable and must be plugged in after the drain for the phone to operate. Lithium ion batteries have a shelf life and are only good for a certain number of charges, but most phones will last for 18 months to 3 years, depending on use.

Standby Charge

A phone on standby can last for upward of 3 days, depending on the type of phone and applications packed onto it. Standby is the time you are not actively talking or using the phone, you simply have it on. The older a phone gets, the shorter the standby time will get but new phones appear to be averaging around 2 to 5 days of standby.

Official Talk Time

Official talk time refers to the amount of time the phone can be used for talking before the battery will be drained completely. Newer phone models often offer high talk-time charges. Most new model phones offer roughly between 5 to 7 hours of official talk time per charge. The official talk time also includes time used on other applications, including text messaging and picture taking.

Phone Applications

Phone application can drain a battery much more quickly than the advertised talk times. Using the Internet, playing video games or playing videos/music will lead to a quicker battery drain time.

Age of Battery

Some people find that as a phone ages, the battery will die more and more quickly; the phone must be recharged more often. This is due to the breakdown of the lithium ion battery. A battery will begin to lose the ability to charge after about 18 months of daily use.
