Referred to as Skype Mobile, the Skype application provides users the ability to make and receive Skype calls on their smartphone handsets. The developers at Skype have only released Skype Mobile applications for Android, Symbian and iPhone smartphones. While the iPhone app is downloaded through Apple's App Store, Android and Symbian devices install the app through Skype's website, which automatically detects the type of mobile handset you're using.
Instructions
iPhone
1. Tap "App Store" on the home screen on your iPhone and tap "Search" in the bottom bar.
2. Type "Skype" in the search text field and tap "Search." Tap "Skype" in the list of search results.
3. Tap "Install" on the Skype app details page, type your Apple ID password in the text field and press "Enter." The Skype app installs to your iPhone's home screen.
Android
4. Open the applications tray from your home screen and tap "Browser."
5. Tap the URL text field, type "skype.com/m" and press "Enter."
6. Tap "Download Now" on the Skype for Android mobile page. The Skype application installs to your Android device's applications tray.
Symbian
7. Open the applications menu on your Symbian device and select the Web browser.
8. Select the URL text field in the Web browser and type "skype.com/m" and press "Enter."
9. Select the "Download Now" button on the Skype for Symbian mobile page. The Skype applications installs to your Symbian device's applications menu.
