Information On The Nokia 6070

Released in 2006, the Nokia 6070 candy bar-style cellphone is part of Nokia's long line of phones. They date back as far as 1984 when the company released its first mobile phone, the Mobira Talkman, and 1992 when it released its first cellphone, the Nokia 1011. Compact and lightweight, the Nokia 6070 features tri-band 2G network connectivity and is capable of several multimedia functions.


Dimensions, Display and Power


The Nokia 6070 cellphone measures 4.1 inches tall, 1.7 inches wide and 0.7 inches thick and weighs 3.1 oz. Its 1.8-inch color super twist nematic (CSTN) screen displays 65,000 colors at 128 by 160 pixels of resolution and is illuminated by a white backlight. When fully charged, the phone's standard lithium-ion battery holds 760 milliamp hours (mAh) of energy and provides the 6070 with up to 300 hours of standby and up to three hours of talk time.


Internal Components


With 3.2MB of internal memory, the Nokia 6070 provides records for up to 20 missed, received and dialed numbers. The phone connects to the 2G network using Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) technology on the 850, 1800 and 1900 frequency bands. Internet access is attained using a wireless application protocol (WAP) 2.0/xHTML web browser. Multimedia applications that come with the phone include an FM stereo radio, a video player and a digital camera.


Camera and Messaging


The Nokia 6070's built-in digital camera uses the Video Graphics Array technology to capture images at 640 by 480 pixels of resolution and is capable of video recording. Short message service, multimedia messaging service, email and instant message formats are supported by the phone. SMS messages are text only and allow for up to 150 characters per message, while MMS messages support text, pictures, voice and video content. Email messaging is provided through Post Office Protocol (POP3), simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) or Internet message access protocol (IMAP4) server connections. Instant messaging allows for short text messages to be sent to and received from users who are online.


Miscellaneous


Java-based applictions that come with the Nokia 6070 include voice calling, predictive text input and organizer software, such as calendar, things to do lists, memos and a calculator. The phone is able to connect to a personal computer or another phone through its pop port or infrared data transfer ports. Downloadable content supported by the 6070 include wallpapers, ring tones and screen savers. Ring tone formats supported by the phone include MP3 and MIDI. Equipped with an internal antenna, the Nokia 6070 is capable of supporting conference calls.
