Specifications Of The Nokia E71

A smartphone from Finnish multinational telecommunications manufacturer Nokia Corp., the Nokia E71 was released in July 2008. The phone received glowing reviews from technology publications such as CNET and Mobile Choice. Although the E72 succeeded it the following year, the Nokia E71 is still available for purchase.


Network Specifications


Designed as a 3G (third-generational) mobile phone, the Nokia E71 uses the High-Speed Downlink Packet Access protocol. The United States version operates under the 850 MHz and 1,900 MHz band frequencies, while the E71 phones in other regions use the 900 MHz and 2,100 MHz frequencies. The E71 operates as a quad-band phone in the 2G network, using 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1,800 MHz and 1,900 MHz of the Global System for Mobile Communications standard, or GSM.


Memory and Connectivity Specifications


The built-in memory of the Nokia E71 consists of 110 MB of flash memory storage and 128 MB of random-access memory, with the option of expanding the former to 8 GB. Apart from the microSD (small Secure Digital) card slot for memory expansion, the phone's interfaces include a 2.5mm minijack for a headset. Wireless connectivity consists of Bluetooth 2.0 technology and a Wi-Fi-compatible adapter that uses the 802.11 b/g standards of the International Electrical and Electronics Engineers Association.


Battery Specifications


Each Nokia E71 comes with a standard 1,500-milliampere-hour lithium-polymer battery. It provides a talk time of up to 10 1/2 hours in the 2G network and 4 1/2 hours in the 3G network. For standby time, the battery provides 410 hours and 480 hours in 2G and 3G mode, respectively. Additionally, the battery can operate up to 18 hours with the E71 performing music playback using its built-in audio player.


Physical, Display and Camera Specifications


The Nokia E71 has a 4.5-inch (114mm) length, 2.2-inch (57mm) width and 0.4-inch (10mm) depth. The weight is listed as 4.5 ounces, or 127 grams. Each E71 has a 2.36-inch screen with thin-film transistor technology, 320-by-240-pixel resolution and 16-million color display. Built into the phone is a 3.15-megapixel camera with light-emitting diode flash, 15-frames-per-second performance and resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels.
