Block My Cell Number On The Nokia 1600

The Nokia 1600 is a basic GSM phone that comes equipped with a color display, changeable faceplates and polyphonic ringtones. Unlike more advance phones, it does not come with a built-in feature that you can activate to block your phone number. However, you can still block your cell phone number before you make a call by using the *67 call blocking feature, which is nearly universal for all mobile phones. The *67 feature activates the caller-ID blocking service offered through your wireless carrier. It is a basic service, which means you will have to dial the code before you make a call, every time.

Instructions

1. Press the "*" key followed by the number "6" then "7."

2. Enter the phone number for the person that you wish to call. The display screen on your phone should look similar to the following: "*67-123-456-7894."

3. Press the "Call" key to dial the number. The word "Unknown," "Private" or "Anonymous may appear on the recipient's caller-ID. Wait for the recipient to answer the phone. The feature will deactivate once you hang up the call.
