Activate Old Qwest Cell Phones

To activate an old Qwest cell phone you must unlock the device.


Cell phone owners who have an old Qwest cellular device can use the phone with their new network provider, if they unlock it. This enables it to function with your new cellular phone company. If you want to use your Qwest phone, you need to find out your IMEI number and know take out and replace your phone memory card.


Instructions


1. Call Qwest to ask for the IMEI code for you cellular device. When you make contact with Qwest, find out if you need to pay any fees to obtain this unique identifier code from Qwest.


2. Take off the cover of your phone. Gently ease out the memory card of your Qwest phone that sits right next to your battery, and put in the card of your new network provider. You can obtain this new card once you switch cell phone companies.


3. Turn on your cellular device. Your phone instantly recognizes the new memory card and asks for the number of an authorized user. Type the IMEI number that you obtained earlier, so that you can begin to use your old Qwest phone with your new cell phone company.
