Make My Address Unlisted In The Phonebook & Online

Remove your phone number from public directories.

If you are worried about your phone number and address being accessible to anyone, then you can take steps to remove the information from public view. Removing the contact information from public view helps to keep your data safe and you can control who knows where your home is or what your phone number is. Having a less visible phone number helps to keep all the members of your family safe and can give you piece of mind.

Instructions

Remove Phone Number in the Phone Book

1. Contact the phone company that provides your telephone service. This can be done in person at their offices or by phone.

2. Notify the phone company representative that you do not want your phone number listed in their phone book. Request that all personal information gets removed; the customer service representative from the phone company will comply with your wishes. There is sometimes a fee associated with having an unpublished number; it varies with phone companies.

3. Review the newest copy of your phone book when you receive it. Check the phone book by looking up your name and number to see if the phone number was removed. Contact the phone company and make a second request to remove your information from the phone book if it was not removed.
