Set Up Bluetooth Headsets

Place your phone and headset near one another for best results.

Bluetooth headsets come in an array of styles. When used with a compatible mobile phone (one that supports a Bluetooth headset profile) you'll have hands-free access to your call functions. Before your phone and headset can be used together, you'll need to go through a brief setup process known as pairing. To pair, you'll need to charge your headset fully. A complete charge usually takes about two hours.

Instructions

1. Disconnect your headset from the charging source. Do not turn the headset on.

2. Power on your phone and open the menu. Go to "Settings" or "Connections" to access Bluetooth settings. Set Bluetooth power to "On."

3. Place your headset in pairing mode. For many devices, this is accomplished by pressing and holding the "Call" or "Power" button for a few seconds -- the headset's indicator lights will flash or remain lit to indicate pairing mode. (Refer to your user manual if you have difficulty.)

4. Return to your phone's Bluetooth options and choose "Add New" or "Look for Devices." Wait a few moments as your phone locates the headset -- make sure the two devices are no more than a few feet apart.

5. Select the your headset from the list of found items that appears. Enter the pairing password (set by the headset manufacturer) and press "OK." (Most headsets use "0000.") The devices are now paired and will connect automatically.
