Recover Sim Card Files

Data recovery software can help restore SIM card files.

The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card is located within your mobile phone and described as a sturdy plastic piece which is the size of a thumbnail. The plastic housing includes memory technology that stores your network provider's identity and whatever data you choose to save to it such as contacts, text messages and photos. If your phone is unable to read the SIM card, you cannot access your saved data. Fortunately, there are SIM recovery software programs available online to retrieve your information.

Instructions

1. Insert SIM card reader into the computer.

Remove the SIM card from your cell phone device. Insert your SIM card into a SIM card reader and plug the reader into your computer's USB port.

2. Download a SIM card recovery program from an online website.

3. Open the file recovery program and click on the icon that will read the SIM card or recover the data.

4. Choose what data you want to recover such as contacts, text messages or picture messages. Click on the icon that restores your data to the SIM card. Wait for the program to complete the restoration process.

5. Access your data that has been restored by clicking on "Start" and then "Control Panel." Click on the SIM card icon to view the data.
