Use Skype on Airtel BlackBerry Plans


Skype, a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) application, lets you make free calls on the Internet to other Skype users. Skype also offers cheap rates on calls made to cell phones and landlines worldwide. You can easily install and start using Skype on BlackBerry phones operating on Airtel India network. Although you can make Skype-to-Skype calls for free, you will have to purchase "Skype credit" if you want to make calls to cell phones and landlines around the world. Besides the cost of purchasing Skype credit, you also need data plan for accessing the Internet on your BlackBerry device.


Instructions


1. Open your BlackBerry's web browser, and press the key with the BlackBerry icon.


2. Select "Go To."


3. Type this web address: "skype.com/m" and press "Enter."


4. Select the "Download" link and wait for Skype to download and install on your Blackberry.


5. Open Skype after it installs, and enter your Skype username and password. If you don't have an existing account, follow the sign up instructions to make one.


6. Make free Skype-to-Skype calls (like you do on the computer) and send instant messages to your contacts on Skype.


For that, select a particular contact from your list, and click either the "Call" button if he is online, or click the "Text" icon button to send an instant message.


7. Buy Skype credit to make global calls to cell phone and landline numbers. Purchase credit from the Skype website.
