Transfer Files Via A Network On A Nokia N95

The N95 is a model of cell phone manufactured by multinational Finnish telecommunications company Nokia. The N95 is able to connect to other cell phones using either its Bluetooth or infrared network connection. Once connected by Bluetooth or infrared, the N95 can exchange files with other compatible devices. This is useful if you want to send or receive pictures, contact details or media files with friends of colleagues.

Instructions

Transfer Files Via Bluetooth

1. Enter the phone's menu and locate the file you want to send via Bluetooth. For example, if you want to send an image, press the "Menu" button and open the "Gallery" application.

2. Select the file and press "Options." Choose "Send" then "Via Bluetooth." A list of Bluetooth devices in range of your Nokia N95 will appear. This may take several seconds.

3. Select the device you want to transfer the file to if there is more than one available. The other Bluetooth device must accept your request to send a file. "Sending File" will appear on the screen when the connection is established. Wait while your file is transferred.

Transfer Files Via Infrared

4. Arrange the phones so the infrared ports are facing each other, ideally about 3 feet apart. The infrared port on the Nokia N95 is on top of the phone.

5. Activate the infrared port on the device receiving the file. If it is another Nokia N95, press "Menu" and select "Tools" then "Infrared."

6. Select the file you want to send on the sending device and press "Options" then "Send" then "Via Infrared." The file transfer will start when the connection is established. Files received by infrared are placed in Nokia N95's message inbox.
