Change Ilock

Owners of non-jailbroken iPhones can change their iLock screen with the Weather Lock Screen Free app.

iLock is the screen that appears on an iPhone when the phone is set to lock after a certain amount of time being unused. This feature is intended to prevent users from accidentally pushing buttons on the touch screen when the phone is inside a pocket or purse. Users of unlocked (or jailbroken) iPhones are able to change the features of their iLock screen, but users of locked iPhones are not allowed to do this automatically. To change the iLock screen, you will need the free Weather Lock Screen Free app (formerly called i Lock Screen Free), available on iTunes.

Instructions

1. Open the Weather Lock Screen Free app. Click on the "Image Select" button to select a background image for your lock screen from your library.

2. Click the "Weather" button to have weather updates appear on your lock screen based on your GPS, ZIP code or city.

3. Click on the "Text" button to enter a text message for you to see when your screen is locked.

4. Click on the "Themes" button to select from among various themes to customize your lock screen.

5. Click on the center of the screen to preview your lock screen.

6. Click the "Save" button to keep the changes you have made to the iLock screen.
