Reinstall Nvidia Software

Reinstall NVIDIA Software

NVIDIA software is often used to allow users to change detailed settings for their NVIDIA-powered video cards. If you need to reinstall this software because of a program crash, a hardware upgrade or any other reason, you shouldn't worry. The reinstallation process is very simple and requires only that you know a little bit about your computer and browse the Internet. With just a little bit of work, you'll have your NVIDIA software reinstalled with a minimum of fuss.

Instructions

1. Log in to your computer, click on the "Start" button, then click on "Control Panel." Open the Administrative Tools section and open the Device Manager. Wait for the Device Manager to populate, then select your graphics card from the list of devices. Right-click on the graphics card and select the "Uninstall Drivers" option. Confirm that you want to remove the drivers and wait for the process to finish.

2. Go back to the Control Panel and open "Add/Remove Programs" (if you are on Windows XP) or "Programs and Features" (if you are on Windows Vista or 7). Look for any program entries with the word "NVIDIA" in them and choose the "Remove or Uninstall" option. Restart your computer once all of the NVIDIA entries have been removed from the installed programs list.

3. Open a web browser and go to the NVIDIA website. Select your country from the list, then select the option to download drivers. Select your graphics card from the list of available devices, then download the driver. If your graphics card was provided by a computer manufacturer in a prebuilt computer, you should visit the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest video card drive from them.

4. Run the driver setup program. This will reinstall the drivers and other NVIDIA software on your computer. Once the installation program finishes, you should restart your computer. Right-click on your desktop once the computer restarts and you will see a button to open the NVIDIA Control Panel. Open this window and configure your device.
