Change The Backlight On A Nokia 6500

You can change your cell phone's backlight settings.

The backlight on any phone allows you to easily see the menus and screen of the phone. When you are dialing, texting or changing any settings, the backlight is essential to complete the task. The backlight is not needed when the phone is idle and you are not using it. If the backlight stays on, the battery power is drained quickly. There are a couple settings that can change the backlight.

Instructions

1. Open the main menu of the cell phone. Scroll to the "Settings" icon and press the center navigation key to select it.

2. Scroll down and select "Display."

3. Select "Sleep mode." This setting will set the phone screen backlight to time out after a set amount of seconds. The screen will go black until a button is pressed to activate it back up to active mode. This will help save battery power.

4. Scroll down the list to the number of seconds you would like for the phone to stay active until it times out and goes into sleep mode, turning off the backlight. Picking 15 to 20 seconds is a good time frame. Press the center key to select the number of seconds of your choice. This is how long your phone will stay active before the screen will time out when no buttons are being pressed.
