Make Skype Black

Skype allows users to communicate via webcam, for free.

Skype is a free software program that allows you to communicate with other Skype users all over the world. You can do this through traditional instant messaging--where you both type out what you want to say--or through using a webcam or a microphone, allowing you to talk directly to the person. Skype allows you to customize your experience, changing both the audio noises the program makes and the program's appearance.

Instructions

1. Start Skype. If Skype is set to auto-launch when your computer starts, there will be a little blue "S" icon that you need to click on. If not, you will have to launch the program manually by finding the Skype icon and double-clicking it.

2. Log in using the username and password you registered with.

3. Once Skype is open, click on your username. This will bring up a different menu.

4. On this menu, click on "Personalize." A separate window will pop up.

5. Click on "Change Wallpaper." Your wallpaper is the background used by the Skype program. A new box titled "Set Your Skype Wallpaper" will appear.

6. Select "Pick a Preset Color." This will open a new window which will show you a host of different colors.

7. Choose black. Click "OK." Your Skype background will now be black.
