Use Sd In An Mmc Card Slot

Fit SD cards into the MMC card slot on your computer.

MMC cards are slightly larger than the newer SD memory cards. However, if your computer has a built in MMC Card reader but you find yourself using SD cards in your digital devices you may want to convert your SD cards into the larger port. This allows you to import the data from your SD cards without installing an additional card reader or running an external SD reader from one of the USB ports on the system.

Instructions

1. Insert the MMC card adapter into the open MMC card slot on your computer. The device inserts directly into the slot and protrudes outside the exterior of the computer, allowing you to easily remove the device when you choose.

2. Slide the SD card into the newly-inserted MMC card adapter. Wait a few moments and the computer states it has detected a new, removable device on the computer.

3. Click "Start," (My) "Computer" and double-click the removable device icon. This opens a window with all of the files currently stored on the SD card.

4. Copy the files from the SD card if you choose (click-and-drag the files from the open window onto any location of the computer, or click-and-drag files from the computer into the open window).

5. Close out the removable device window when you have finished with the SD card. Right-click the removable device icon and select "Eject" from the pull-down window. Once the icon disappears from the computer you may eject the SD card from the MMC card adapter.
