Activate A Bluetooth Headset

Bluetooth devices come in many styles and sizes for comfort.

Bluetooth headsets allow you to talk on the phone hands-free, either while driving or doing other activities that require both hands. Many states require hands-free devices while driving, helping to reduce accidents and keep both hands on the steering wheel. Bluetooth connection provides a wireless connection to your cellphone so you don't have to worry about finding the right size connector or tangled wires hanging from your ear to the phone.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Bluetooth earpiece. Follow the manufacturer's directions for pairing or discovery mode on the headset. Various devices have different buttons for discovery on a cell phone.

2. Turn on the phone if it's not already on. Go to "Settings" on the phone and locate the option to connect your Bluetooth device. Your cellphone owner's manual indicates the exact location of this menu option. Every cellphone is different.

3. Select or "Activate" the Bluetooth device on your cellphone to initiate use of the headset. Once your Bluetooth headset is activated, you're free to send or receive calls.
