Connect A Headset To An Iphone

Connecting a Bluetooth headset electronically with another device is called "pairing."

Apple iPhones are equipped with Bluetooth capability and can easily connect to a headset. Most wireless headsets are compatible with the iPhone, allowing you to make and receive phone calls hands-free. Headsets that have the capability for stereo Bluetooth also allow you to listen to your music in stereo without having to deal with wires. Connecting a headset to your iPhone takes a few moments and generally only needs to be done once.

Instructions

1. Activate pairing mode on the headset. This step will vary depending on the type of device you are using. For many, you can do this by pressing and holding the "Power" or "Call" button for five to ten seconds, until the indicator lights turn on or flash rapidly. See your user guide for specific instructions.

2. Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPhone's home screen. The "Settings" menu will open.

3. Tap "General."

4. Tap "Bluetooth." If "Off" is showing on the toggle switch next to "Bluetooth," tap "On." The iPhone will begin scanning for nearby in range devices.

5. Tap the name of your headset when it appears on the "Devices" list.

6. Use the iPhone's on screen keypad to enter the headset's PIN. The PIN, or pairing passkey, is set by the headset manufacturer. Many headsets use "0000" or "1234." see your headset's guide for details.

7. Tap "Pair." The headset and iPhone will now connect and are ready for use.
