Unlock A Nokia 6010 Cell Phone Free

Some cell phones contain programming that allows them to connect to only a single cell phone service provider. Cell phones limited in this way are locked. However, it may be possible to remove the limitation on the phone so that the device can connect to any service provider, a process referred to as unlocking. You can unlock a Nokia 6010 cell phone free by obtaining an unlock code from your service provider and using the code to perform the unlocking operation on the device.

Instructions

1. Turn on the Nokia 6010 and press *#06#. Write down the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number that the phone displays.

2. Call your service provider's customer service line and request an unlock code for your phone. The service provider will ask for the IMEI number and then give you the unlock code for your particular phone. Write down the unlock code.

3. Turn off the 6010. Turn the phone so that the back of the phone is facing you, then press and hold the back cover release button located at the bottom of the phone's back panel. Slide the cover. Lift out the battery, which is located directly under the back cover. The SIM card door is located under the battery.

4. Grasp the front of the SIM card door and push it gently toward the gold contacts. Pull the SIM card out of the phone, replace the battery and replace the back cover. Turn the phone on.

5. Type the unlocking sequence appropriate for your service provider. For phones connected to the T-Mobile network, type #pw+CODE+1# (where CODE is the unlock code provided by T-Mobile). For phones connected to the AT&T network, type #pw+CODE+7# (where CODE is the unlock code provided by AT&T). When you have finished entering the code, the phone displays the message "Network Lock Deactivated."
