Turn an MP3 File Into a Cell Phone Ringtone

You hear a ringtone every time someone calls you. They are sound files that alert you of a caller. While cell phones come with default ringtones, you can convert your favorite musical tracks into ringtones and upload to your player. This gives your calls a more personalized sound. Convert MP3 audio files to ringtones using easy-to-use online ringtone converters

Instructions

1. Go to a free ringtone converter website such as Mp3mer.com or iwfr.com. These websites allow you to import and convert MP3 audio files to a variety of ringtone formats.

2. Click "Browse." Locate your MP3 audio file from the location you have it on your computer and click "Open" to import it to the ringtone converter.

3. Select the portion of the MP3 audio file to convert to a ringtone. Select the ringtone format you want to use. You can select from a number of formats such as M4R, MPC or OGG. Refer to your cell phones documentation if you are unsure of the supported ringtone format.

4. Select the bitrate you want to use. For higher ringtone quality settings, select a minimum bitrate of 192Kbps.

5. Add effects such as fade-in or fade-out if you want. When you are done, click "Make Ringtone." Click "Download ringtone" and click "Save." Select the location to save the ringtone to on your computer and click "Save." The ringtone is downloaded to your computer.
