Tethering N75 Data Modem To Laptop

If you frequently travel between different locations with a laptop, you may not always be near a free Wi-Fi hot spot for accessing the Internet. As long as your cell phone plan includes the ability to surf the Web, you are also able to access the Internet through your laptop. Your Nokia N75 phone includes an option known as "tethering," which lets the mobile phone act as a modem anywhere you have cell service.

Instructions

1. Plug a USB cable into the USB port on the bottom of the Nokia N75 phone. Plug the opposite end of the cable into any USB port on your laptop. Close down the "AutoPlay" prompt if it appears on your screen.

2. Open your laptop's "Start" menu and navigate to "All Programs" and "Nokia." Click the "PC Suite" icon. Click "Cable Connection" underneath the "Get Connected" heading.

3. Click the green "Connect to the Internet" icon at the upper-right corner of the PC Suite window. Click "Connect" to automatically detect your Nokia N75's network settings and use the phone as a modem.

4. Minimize the PC Suite window. Open a Web browser on your laptop and access any Web pages you need to view. Return to the PC Suite window and click "Disconnect" when you are done using the phone as a modem. Unplug the phone's USB cable.
