DVDs are embedded with region codes to determine where in the world they can be played.
Region codes are built into DVDs and DVD players. Depending on where in the world they are used, the codes control whether the disc and player will operate. Insignia DVD players can be unlocked so that it will play a DVD regardless of the region code. No special hardware is required, nor do you need to have any expertise in how region codes or DVD players work. Returning the player to a locked state also is possible.
Instructions
1. Press the remote control's "On" button to turn on the DVD player. Press "Open/Close" to open the disc tray.
2. Press the "Setup" button. Enter the following numeric keys in this order, pressing each key once: 2, 2, 5, 4, 2, 2.
3. Push once on the "Left" arrow on the direction pad. Repeat with the "Down" arrow.
4. Push the "10/0" numeric key once. Wait for the number "0" to appear in a box on the screen.
5. Press "Play" once. Wait for the box to disappear from the screen. Press "Setup" again.
