Pair A Bluetooth To The Cell Phone

Most cell phones today are Bluetooth-enabled.


Bluetooth is a wireless technology that is used to connect devices and share data between them. The radio frequency of your Bluetooth device is 245 GHz. Using Bluetooth technology, information can be transmitted over short distances of normally 10 meters (33 feet). Most mobile phones, PDAs, computer systems, laptops, MP3 players and even digital cameras manufactured today have an embedded Bluetooth chip enabling the device to transfer data wirelessly. However, the pairing of two Bluetooth devices is required in order to transfer data wirelessly. This is known as "Bluetooth pairing." Bluetooth pairing gives the devices permission to share data.


Instructions


1. Turn on the device you want to pair with the cell phone in order to enable Bluetooth. Make sure that the device is in discoverable mode. You may need to review the device manual in order to find specific details on enable Bluetooth.


2. Enable Bluetooth on your cell phone by navigating to "Settings" and configuring the Bluetooth options. Select "Search for Devices" on the Bluetooth settings screen. After the search is complete, the names and device types of discoverable Bluetooth-enabled devices within 33 feet will be displayed.


3. Select the device that you want to pair with your cell phone. Enter a numeric passkey on your cell phone when prompted to do so. The default passkey is normally "0000."


4. Enter the same numeric passkey on the other Bluetooth device when a prompt appears on the device. If the passkey matches, your cell phone becomes paired with the other Bluetooth device.
