Use A Bluetooth Headset With Skype

Skype is a communications program available for free to download on your computer. Once you have downloaded and registered for Skype, you are advised to use a standard headphone and mic headset for communicating with people while using this program. But not all people want to sit in front of their computers while talking to people; you can use a Bluetooth headset to link to your computer and talk to people via Skype. Setting up a Bluetooth headset to work with Skype on your computer is fairly easy.

Instructions

1. Purchase a Bluetooth adapter for your model of Bluetooth headset at a tech store. Some computers (especially new computers and laptops) have a Bluetooth adapter installed already. If not, you can purchase a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into a USB connection on your computer. Then follow the installation instructions as specified on the driver disc that comes with the adapter.

2. Turn on your Bluetooth headset, then look at the bottom left-hand side of your computer screen. The Bluetooth icon will appear there. Right-click the icon and click "Add Device."

3. Find your Bluetooth headset on the list and double-click it. The computer and Bluetooth headset will now sync.

4. Open the Skype program. On the top menu bar, click the "Tools" tab. Then click "Options" and select "Sound Devices." Select "Bluetooth Audio" for both audio in and audio out.
