Skype With A Droid Phone

Skype With a Droid Phone

Skype is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) application that allows users to instant message and make voice and video calls over the Internet. There is also a version of Skype called Skype mobile that enables Skype calling on applicable cell phones, such as the Motorola Droid. The Droid is a touchscreen smart phone that has the specifications to run Skype mobile. Once the Skype application is downloaded on the phone, it can be used just like the application on a regular computer.

Instructions

1. Launch the Droid web browser, then navigate to skype.com/m. Download the application from the Android Market. Once the download has completed, Skype will immediately be ready for use. Alternatively, you can obtain Skype by entering your phone number on the Get Skype Mobile webpage (see Resources.)

2. Navigate to the Skype application on the Droid, then select it to open it.

3. Enter your Skype user name and password in the application login screen.

4. Select "Contacts," then choose a contact. Select "Call" from the menu to initiate a call. Select "End" to stop the call.
