Uninstall Windows Mobile Applications

The Dell Axim is a well-known series of Windows Mobile devices.

The Windows Mobile operating system has a large development community creating games and applications. As a result, if you own a Windows Mobile phone or PDA, it is likely that you have a few third-party applications on your device. Some Windows Mobile devices, particularly older ones, have little internal storage, and you may be looking for a way to increase the amount of free storage on your device. One of the fastest ways to do this is to uninstall your unused applications.

Instructions

Removing Applications from the Device

1. Tap the "Start" button on your Windows Mobile device, and then tap "Settings". Make sure that the "System" tab is on top in the window that appears.

2. Tap the "Remove Programs" icon. The device displays a list of the applications installed.

3. Tap the name of the application that you want to remove, and then tap the "Remove" button. Windows Mobile uninstalls the selected program. Note that if you installed the program using ActiveSync or the Windows Mobile Device Center, the software removal process is not completed until you synchronize the device with your computer.

Removing Applications Using the Computer (Windows XP and Earlier)

4. Connect the Windows Mobile device to your computer. Allow a moment for ActiveSync to appear, and for the device to finish synchronizing with the computer.

5. Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the ActiveSync window, and select "Add/Remove Programs".

6. Remove the check from next to the name of the application that you want to uninstall from the Windows Mobile device, and click "OK". This method allows you to install the application on the device again later by returning the check to the box. Alternatively, click the program and then click the "Remove" button to remove it from both the computer and the device.

Removing Applications Using the Computer (Windows Vista and Later)

8. Click "Programs And Services", and then click "More".

9. Click "Add/Remove Programs".

10. Remove the check from next to the name of the application that you want to uninstall from the Windows Mobile device, and click "OK".
