Make Calls From Google Voice On An Android Over Wifi

Google Voice is available in the Android Market.

If you have an active Wi-Fi connection, you can use Google Voice to make calls on your Android phone. Google Voice offers a free app that is capable of placing domestic and international calls on your phone without using your talktime minutes. With Wi-Fi, you don't even use your phone's cellular data that keeps you from using your monthly allotted data. When Wi-Fi is enabled, it is used by default by your phone for the Google Voice calls.

Instructions

1. Touch "Menu" on your Android phone, and then touch "Settings." Touch "Wireless and Networks."

2. Touch "Wi-Fi" to enable the connection, and then touch "Wi-Fi Settings."

3. Touch your Wi-Fi network to connect to it. Enter the network's security passkey if prompted.

4. Press "Home" and touch "Menu." Touch the "Google Voice" icon to launch the app. Agree to the Terms of Service and sign into your account.

5. Follow the on-screen prompts to establish a PIN for your voicemail and which calls to make using Google Voice. Touch "Ask Every Time I Make a Call" to view a prompt to make calls through the app when you dial a phone number.

6. Press "Home" and touch the "Phone" icon on the home screen.

7. Touch "Phone" and enter the number you want to call. Touch the "Phone" icon at the bottom of the screen, and then touch "Call with Google Voice." Wait for the party to answer.
