Use Skype Via Wifi

Use a Wi-Fi network to communicate with your friends via Skype.

You can save money by using the Skype application to make free computer-to-computer voice and video calls. Skype uses the Internet to establish a communication connection between two computers running the software. Therefore, you can reduce your cell phone or home telephone bill by using Skype as an alternative communication platform. To use Skype via Wi-Fi, your computer must have access to a wireless network with a high-speed Internet connection.

Instructions

1. Click the "Network" icon in the notification area of the taskbar on the bottom-right corner of the desktop.

2. Click the network you want to connect to from the list of available networks in the pop-up box.

3. Click the "Connect" button to connect to the network. If prompted, enter the network's password or security key in the "Connect to Network" box, and then click "OK."

4. Start Skype, and then enter your Skype user name and password.

5. Select a contact to call, video call or text. Click the "Call Phones" tab to dial a phone number. The Skype application accesses the Internet via the Wi-Fi network.
