My Logitech Clearchat Is Not Detected Anymore

Logitech ClearChat wireless or USB headsets rely on a receiver or USB port to connect to the computer. The computer stops detecting the wireless headset if it has lost its pairing. With wired USB headsets, issues with USB ports cause connection problems. Whether you're using a wireless or wired ClearChat headset, Logitech provides solutions and tips to restore the connection.

Re-pairing

In most cases, the computer stops detecting the Logitech ClearChat wireless headset if the receiver is no longer paired to the headset. If the headset is no longer communicating with the USB receiver, re-pair them. Before re-pairing the devices, turn on the headset, and then connect the receiver to an open USB port on the computer. Holding the Mute and Volume buttons on the headset for at least 15 seconds causes the LED to blink green. If the receiver isn't blinking slowly, it means the computer isn't recognizing it. Press the reset button on the receiver, and then wait for the ClearChat PC headset to automatically pair with the device.

Driver

If you're using a Logitech ClearChat USB headset, the computer will suddenly stop detecting it if the drivers are missing, damaged or corrupt. This is especially likely to happen if one or more applications interfere with the driver. Newer operating systems such as Windows 7 and Vista include the drivers required for the ClearChat USB headset. If you're using Windows XP with an older Service Pack, you need to reinstall the driver to solve connection problems.

USB

In some cases, a ClearChat USB headset stops working if the USB port isn't responding. This may happen if you disconnect and reconnect the device. If the USB port isn't working, use a different one. If the problem persists, open the Device Manager from the Control Panel. Click your computer's icon, select "Action," and then click "Scan for hardware changes." The computer automatically attempts to repair the connection. In some cases, restarting the computer resets the USB ports. If a restart doesn't solve the problem, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section in the Device Manager. Right-click each USB controller and click "Uninstall" to remove them. Removing these drivers allows the computer to reload them to solve connection problems.

Settings

If the Logitech ClearChat is no longer detected, verify that the audio settings are properly configured. If you're using an audio or communication application such as Skype, the Logitech headset must be set as the default audio input and output device. If you open the Sounds panel from the Control Panel, the Playback tab displays information about the input and output settings. Verify that the device is selected as the sound playback device. If you click "Properties," you can adjust volume levels from the "Levels" tab.
