DVO's Cook'n is an application for organizing and managing your recipes that runs on PCs with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, 98 or NT. Use it to type in your favorite recipes, quickly search for them and adjust serving sizes. You can also generate weekly menus and shopping lists, analyze the nutritional value of recipes, and print out a cookbook of family recipes. You might be interested in upgrading to the latest version, 9, which introduces new features and tools, such as the ability to rate recipes and spell check them, display ingredients first and then the amounts, and work with new yield, cook time and preparation time fields.
Instructions
1. Go to DVO's Cook'n upgrade page (see Resources). The latest version of the application, as of December 2010, is Cook'n 9.
2. Click on "CD" if you would like to have a copy of the application on a compact disc mailed to you. An order page will open. Type the number of copies you want to purchase, type in your ZIP or postal code in the "Ship to ZIP/Postal Code" box and then click on the "Ship to Country" pull-down menu to select your country. Click on the "Choose a Payment Option" pull-down menu to select a method of payment, such as a credit card or PayPal. Click "Checkout" and type in your name, address and payment information, and then confirm your order. Click "Submit This Order" to finish.
3. Click on "Download" if you want to download the application directly to your computer. An order page will open. Type the number of copies you want to purchase, type in your ZIP or Postal code in the "Ship to ZIP/Postal Code" box and then click on the "Ship to Country" pull-down menu to select your country. Click on the "Choose a Payment Option" pull-down menu to select a method of payment, such as a credit card or PayPal. Click "Checkout" and type in your name, address and payment information, and then confirm your order. Click "Submit This Order" to finish, and then you will receive instructions about download and upgrade Cook'n.
4. Go to DVO's Cook'n Update Files website (see Resources) if you don't want to pay to upgrade to the latest version of the application but would like to update your copy of Cook'n version 7 or 8 with a free patch file. Click on the patch file link to download it to your computer. Double click on the patch file on your hard drive, and it will update your version of the Cook'n application with the latest features and enhancements for version 7 or 8.
