Nokia N95 Modem Fax Properties

Faxes may be forwarded from your cell phone to a fax machine.

The Nokia N95 has a healthy set of advanced features to suit many needs; these features range from its 5-megapixel camera to Web browsing capability. Additionally, you can connect the cell phone to a modem through its infrared connectivity.

Infrared Connection

Press the blue key, then select "Tools" and then "Modem." Press the center button to activate your N95 as a modem for a compatible computer. The infrared port of the phone should not sit more than 3 feet from the infrared port on the computer.

Fax Modem Capability

You cannot use the Nokia N95 directly as a fax modem. However, most networks offer a call diverting feature that forces calls to go to a different number that is fax capable. You can set up call diverting, also known as call forwarding, with a call to your cellular network's customer service line.

Call Forwarding

Depending on your network, you may be able to toggle it on briefly and then off again yourself by inputting a sequence of numbers into your N95. To do so, press "*72" followed by the fax number to which you'd like to forward. Press "*73" to stop call forwarding.
