Activate Navigation On Ovi Maps

Activate Ovi Maps navigation on your Nokia phone to receive free maps and directions.

Ovi Maps is a service for Nokia cellphone account holders that allows users to view maps of locations around the world. With Ovi Maps, users can obtain navigation directions to places such as shops, hotels or motels, restaurants and banks. These maps may be downloaded for free as long as you have a Nokia account. Once you have downloaded Ovi Suite, a program that transfers data to your phone, you may download and install the maps you choose.

Instructions

1. Go to the Nokia website and navigate to the "Services and Apps" tab. Click "Maps," then "Download Ovi Maps."

2. Use the menu on the left to choose your phone model. If you are notified that you may need a software update, go to "Menu" on your phone, then "Applications" and "SW Update." Otherwise, click "Download" and save the file to your computer.

3. Download Ovi Suite (see Resources) and install the application on the computer.

4. Connect your Nokia phone to a computer using either the included USB cable or its Bluetooth mode.

5. Open the map file you have downloaded. Click through the screens that appear to send the map file to the phone. When you are notified that the process is complete, Ovi Maps navigation is activated on the phone. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
