Unlock A Prepaid Verizon Samsung Phone

Prepaid Verizon wireless phones use SIM cards to connect to the network. The small plastic cards located behind the battery are removable and interchangeable. The SIM card manages the user's minutes, phone number and other contract-specific functions. These types of phones are easy to unlock for use on other networks. Phones, such as those made by Samsung, come with branding software that "lock" them to a specific network. Entering the correct subsidy unlock code removes this restriction and unlocks the phone.

Instructions

1. Press *#06# on the Samsung to display the device's identification number. This 15-digit number, referred to as the IMEI number, is required to generate the subsidy unlock code.

2. Contact your wireless carrier's customer service department and request the subsidy unlock code. Most companies will give the code to customers who have been with them for at least three months.

3. Turn off the Samsung, remove the battery, and remove the SIM card. Insert the battery and turn the phone on.

4. Enter #7465625*638*Unlock code#. Replace "Unlock code" with the eight-digit code provided by the customer service department. The phone will display a success message and may automatically reboot. The Samsung is now ready for use on any network.
