Fix Sd Micro Memory Cards

SD micro memory cards are small chips most commonly used in digital cameras and other portable electronic devices that can create and store media. These memory cards act as removable hard drives in the devices, and like standard computer hard drives, you may run into issues with the card. To fix errors or problems you may be having with a micro memory SD card you need to reformat it.

Instructions

1. Connect an SD micro memory card reader to the computer. If you do not have a card reader, you can connect the camera, or other device it is used with, to the computer via a USB cable.

2. Insert the SD micro memory card into the reader or camera and turn on the device. In a moment the computer will detect a new removable device.

3. Select "My Computer" (also known as "Computer" in later releases of Microsoft Windows). This is going to display all of the drives and storage units connected to the computer. The SD micro memory card should be one of these units.

4. Right click the SD micro memory card icon and select "Format" from the pull-down menu.

5. Click "OK" to confirm the format and wait for Windows to format the disk. Right click the SD micro memory card icon to bring up a pull-down menu. Click "Eject" and in a moment the icon is going to disappear. Disconnect the camera or other device from the computer. You can now begin using the SD micro memory disk without any further issues.
