Configure Ps3 Headphones

Using headphones with your PS3 will require some troubleshooting, but has its benefits.

Whether you're playing a video game late at night, watching a Blu-ray DVD, using Netflix, or taking advantage of other Sony PS3 capabilities, using headphones with your PS3 will bring you closer to the action without waking up the neighbors. The current PS3 consoles don't have a direct solution for most headphones, however. Most wired headphones and earbuds use a 1/8-inch audio jack, and the PS3 doesn't have a 1/8-inch audio-out jack.

Instructions

1. Insert the the A/V (audio/visual) plug into the audio-in jack of the stereo receiver or television set through which you're running audio for the Sony PS3.

2. Plug the headphones into the audio-output jack of the receiver or television. The audio-output jack is typically located on the front, side or back of receivers and televisions.

3. Adjust the volume on your headphones to a moderate level and turn off the mute function.

4. Power on the PS3 system and the television/receiver.
