Information On Nokia N500 Auto Navigation

Nokia came out with its first handheld portable GPS in 2008.

If you ever found yourself lost in your car without a map, you know that getting lost can be an adventure. The Nokia N500 brings satellite navigation maps and directions in a small portable but readable package to your car.

History

Nokia, a Finnish manufacturer of cell phones and electronics, had its origins in a paper mill in 1922. Nokia debuted the N500 portable navigation device in 2007 at the SEMA Show, a premier annual automotive specialty products trade event. The N500 appeared in stores the following year during the first quarter.

Purpose

The N500 allows users to navigate in cars. The handheld portable device slips comfortably in purses, pockets or backpacks. The SiRF Star III Global Positioning technology gives the user voice commands or turn-by-turn directions to the desired location.

Features

The N500 features a 4.3-inch color touch screen with a built-in speaker system. An FM transmitter allows users to stream the directions over car speakers for an even louder presentation. In addition, the portable navigation device has Bluetooth capability, allowing it to link with your cell phone for hands-free operation of your cell phone. Finally, the advanced technology allows 2D and 3D map presentations along with real-time traffic information.
