Convert A Tmobile Phone To At&T

Convert a T-Mobile Phone to AT&T

Cellular phones rely on a cell phone network in order to place calls, connect to the Internet, and send and receive text messages. Cell phones that rely on a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card network such as T-Mobile can be transferred to any other network, such as AT&T. However, you will not be able to use your cell phone on AT&T until the phone is unlocked and properly configured for use on AT&T's cell phone network.

Instructions

1. Contact T-Mobile and ask the customer service representative to unlock your cell phone for you. As a T-Mobile phone is locked so that it can only be used on T-Mobile's network, you will need to unlock the cell phone before you use it with AT&T. T-Mobile has a policy that allows you to have your cell phone unlocked after you have had an account with T-Mobile for 90 days. If you are not eligible, you will need to use an online phone unlocking service to unlock your cell phone.

2. Open the battery case and remove the T-Mobile SIM card from the SIM card slot on the phone. Replace it with the AT&T SIM card that you received when you start a cell phone plan with AT&T.

3. Return the battery to the phone and close the cover. Turn on the phone and allow it to boot up.

4. Make sure that the main screen of your phone says "AT&T" on it where it used to say "T-Mobile."
