Configure Gprs Settings For Tmobile

GPRS settings enable the ability to use the Internet.

If you've recently decided to use a non-T-Mobile phone on the T-Mobile network you have likely noticed that you cannot access the Internet or use picture messaging. This is because each carrier uses their own settings for GPRS (General Packet Radio Services ) and if you choose to use a non T-Mobile phone on the T-Mobile network you will need to contact them for assistance with obtaining the settings. The great thing is, getting the settings is not a complicated task.

Instructions

1. Pull the battery out of your phone and write down the model number of your phone. The model number is on the product description sticker that is lowed on the back of the phone in the battery compartment. T-Mobile will need to know what phone you are using in order to help with the configuration of GPRS.

2. Call T-Mobile at (877) 453-1304 and ask to speak to a technical care representative because you need to obtain GPRS settings for your phone. You must be off of your phone or they will tell you to call back. Advise the technical care representative the brand and model of phone that you have. The representative will send you what is called an OTA (over the air) update with the GPRS settings you need.

3. Open the push message (OTA message) that has been sent to your phone. The representative will give you a four-digit code to enter into the phone to save the settings. The representative will send you a second download for MMS (picture messaging) settings. A second four-digit code will be given to you to save those settings. The phone is now provisioned with all of the necessary GPRS settings.
