Install Bluetooth In A Dell Latitude D600 Laptop

The Dell Latitude D600 laptop comes preinstalled with a Bluetooth receiver so you can pair other Bluetooth devices with your computer. Many wireless devices, such as keyboards and mice, are now available as Bluetooth devices. With Bluetooth, you can use headsets and even sync your cell phone to your Dell laptop. Even if your model doesn't have Bluetooth currently installed for any reason, installation requires no tools.

Instructions

1. Insert the USB Bluetooth adapter into any available USB port directly on your Dell Latitude D600 laptop. Do not use a USB hub.

Though Bluetooth is installed by default on most models, some users choose not to add the feature when ordering from Dell. If you have Bluetooth already installed, skip to Step 9 for turning Bluetooth functionality on.

2. Allow your operating system to recognize and install the adapter. You will see the status of the installation in your notification tray on the bottom right of your screen.

3. Navigate to the "Start" menu and right-click "Computer."

4. Choose "Manage."

5. Select "Device Manager" on the left side of the screen.

6. Press the "Plus sign" to expand "Bluetooth Devices" in the list of installed devices and hardware.

7. Right-click the internal Bluetooth adapter or the one you just installed and select "Update Driver Software."

8. Choose "Search Automatically" and wait for the latest driver to be installed. Press "Finish" when complete.

9. Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the notification tray. The icon looks like a capital B.

10. Choose "Enable Bluetooth" to search for devices.
