Set Telstra Data On An Iphone

Telstra is an Australian telecommunications and media company, originally owned by the Australian government, but privatized in the recent past. Telstra is the largest provider of mobile services in Australia, and they were the original mobile carrier partner with Apple for the iPhone in Australia. To enable iPhone data with Telstra, you will need to ensure that your device is configured with the proper Access Point Name (APN), which identifies the Internet packet data network that your mobile device will use for data communications.

Instructions

1. Sign up for iPhone mobile service with Telstra.

2. Open your iPhone "Settings" app to "General," then tap "Network," and then "Cellular Data Network," and finally "APN."

3. Enter "telstra.iph" for the APN name, and leave username and password blank.

4. Test data connectivity by disabling Wi-Fi on the iPhone. Go to "Settings," then tap "Wi-Fi" and turn the Wi-Fi setting to the "OFF" position.

5. Open mobile Safari on your iPhone and check that you have data connectivity by attempting to open a website.
