Skype is a computer program that allows you to make free video and voice calls to anyone in the world using the Skype network. Instructions


1. Connect a headset to your PC. You can connect a headset, microphone or a Bluetooth headset to your computer.


2. Go to the Skype website and download the Skype application. Once you have downloaded Skype, double-click on the executable file to install Skype onto your PC. Next, create a new username and password. This will allow you to login to the Skype network.


3. Search for your friends and family on Skype by clicking on the "Add" button. You can search via their Skype name, full name, email address or by MySpaceIM name. Friends that are online appear at the top of the list with a green icon.


4. Purchase Skype credits to make calls to landlines and cell phones. With Skype credits, you can also make international and long distance calls for a fixed rate. You can buy Skype credits using a credit card or PayPal. Check the Skype website for local and international rates.


5. Call your friends by double-clicking on their screen name. To hang up, click on the red icon. If your friends are not online, you can send SMS messages or forward your message to their voicemail.


6. Tell your friends about Skype if they don't already have it. It's a cheap and free way to communicate with your friends anywhere in the world. Also, if you have a small business that requires conference calling, Skype is perfect since most services are free.
