Unlock My Samsung Omnia

Unlocking your Omnia

Most popular, cutting-edge cell phones are locked by their manufacturers so they can be used only with a service contract from the designated wireless carrier. Fortunately, it is usually easy to unlock mobile devices for unrestricted use. The Samsung Omnia smart phone, for example, is offered in the United States by Verizon Wireless, but you can unlock your Omnia simply by entering a few numeric codes.

Instructions

1. Press the call button on the Omnia home screen.

2. Dial *7465625*638*#.

3. Enter your three-digit mobile country code (MCC) and the two- or three-digit mobile network code (MNC) for your wireless carrier in the field for "MCC/MNC." For example, the U.S. code for Verizon Wireless is 310012. If you do not know your MCC and MNC, which also serve as the first six digits of your international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), you should be able to find them with a simple Internet search.

4. Enter 12345678 in the field for "NCK" (network code key).

5. Press "OK" to submit the information.

6. Dial *#7465625#. You should see a message indicating that the network lock for your phone is still active.

7. Dial #7465625*638*#, and then enter 12345678 (the new NCK you entered in Step 4).

8. Repeat Step 6 (dial *#7465625#) to confirm that your Omnia is now fully unlocked.
