By unlocking your Nokia 2760H, you can use a SIM card from any network provider. In addition to that, unlocking the phone increases its resale value. Instructions
1. Find out your Nokia 2760H's IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. An IMEI number is a 15-digit code, which is specific to each cellular phone. To find out the IMEI number, press *#06#* on your phone keypad. If the phone screen shows you more than 15 digits, write down only the first 15 digits, as the rest of the numbers aren't part of the IMEI number.
2. Pick a website that offers unlock codes for Nokia 2760H. You can find links to a few websites in Resources section of this article.
3. Provide your cell phone information to the phone unlocking website. You will be required to fill a form with questions about your network provider, country, IMEI number, and email address. You will then receive the unlock code through email within 24 hours.
4. Take the existing SIM card out of the phone and turn the phone on.
5. Type in #PW+Code+1# on the phone keypad. Enter the code provided by the website. Create the letter P by pressing the * (asterisk) button three times and create the letter W by pressing the *(asterisk) button four times. Create the + sign by pressing the *(asterisk) button twice. Upon entering the code, the phone will show "SIM Restriction Off." If this method doesn't work, go to Step 6.
6. Type in #PW+Code+7#. Create the letters P, W and the symbol + by methods mentioned in the previous step. Upon entering the code, the phone will show "Sim Restriction Off."
