Sending and receiving messages on your Nokia 5300 device expands the phone's functionality and gives you another way to enjoy your device. Instructions
1. Ensure that your phone has a signal if the device fails to send your messages. Locate the service bar level on the top-left corner of your screen. You should have at least one bar to be connected to the network.
2. Ensure that your phone has the correct configuration settings if you are having trouble with multimedia messages or Nokia Xpress audio messaging. Call your mobile provider to obtain the correct settings. Dial 611 and press "Send." The settings will be sent to your phone. Save the settings by clicking "Show" and then "Save" in the message that appears on the screen.
3. Reset the phone. No messages or other data will be lost by performing the "Soft Reset." Press the "Menu" button. Click "Settings," and select "OK." Then, select "Restore Factory Settings" and "Restore All." Press "OK."
