Unlock A Nokia 6500 Via Cable

Use a USB cable to unlock your Nokia 6500 so you can use it on any network.

The Nokia 6500 is a quad band phone with a slide-out keypad that came out in 2007. If you purchased your Nokia 6500 on a network contract, then it came locked. If you want to use it on another network you need to get it unlocked. The most common way of unlocking your phone is to use a code. However, you can also use a USB cable.

Instructions

1. Download the Nokia DCT3 Tool 1.8 by ROLIS (see Resources). This program will unlock your Nokia 6500 once it is connected via USB cable.

2. Unzip the DCT3 software program to your desktop. Connect the Nokia 6500 to the computer using the data cable.

3. Double-click on the DCT3 software program and let the software detect the phone.

4. Click on the button that looks like an insect located at the top right of the tool bar. This is the auto-configure button. In a few seconds you will get a message that says "Found Phone."

5. Click on the "Read Phone Info" located on the tool bar. The software will have pictures of four locks. If any of these are closed the Nokia 6500 is locked.

6. Unlock the Nokia 6500 by clicking on the "Clear SP Locks." Check the status on the software to see that that all the locks are unlocked. You can now use it with a SIM card from any network. Unplug your phone from the computer.
