Register A Phone On Verizon

Register a Phone on Verizon

You might find a great deal on a cell phone by buying from a third party, but you are on your own when it comes to activating the phone for use on the Verizon network. You can register on the Verizon website with the ESN or MEID number from your cell phone as well as some codes from your receipt. Once you have registered, you will be able to program your phone by placing a call and accessing an automated Verizon menu.

Instructions

1. Register a new account on the Verizon Wireless website or log in to your existing account.

2. Click "Account" at the top of the page.

3. Click "Activate Phone" under "I Want To..."

4. Select whether your phone is used or new. If it's a new phone, you'll need to enter the last for digits of your Social Security number as well as the location code and order number from your receipt.

5. Choose the number that the new phone will be registered to and hit "Next."

6. Enter your Electronic Security Number (ESN) or Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID). Both numbers will likely be listed on the label underneath your cell phone battery.

7. Choose a reason why you are switching phones and click "Finish." If you get the confirmation page, you have successfully registered your cell phone on the Verizon Wireless network.
