The Nokia E71 is a smartphone that can store and stream digital video in the WMV, RV, MP3 and 3GP formats. If you have a digital video you want to upload to the Nokia E71, you'll need to optimize the media for playback on the device. RealPlayer Converter (an accessory included with RealPlayer), Hamster Free Video Converter and iWisoft Free Video Converter are all freeware that can be used for this task. RealPlayer Converter encodes in the RV format, Hamster Free Video Converter encodes in the MP4 format and iWisoft Free Video Converter uses the compatible 3GP format.
Instructions
RealPlayer Converter
1. Launch RealPlayer Converter. Drag and drop the digital video input file into the "Drag Files to Convert Here" section.
2. Click "Convert to" to open the "Select a Device" window. Open the "Recently Used/Popular" pull-down menu and then select "Cell Phones." Choose the "Nokia E71x" option and then click "OK."
3. Click "Start." A confirmation message displays when the media has been successfully encoded. The Nokia RV output file will be retrievable from the same storage location as the digital video input file.
Hamster Free Video Converter
4. Launch Hamstersoft Free Video Converter. Drag and drop the digital video input file into the Manager List section under the Add File tab.
5. Select the "Edit" tab. Choose the Nokia icon in the Device section.
6. Select the "Convert" tab and then click "Press to Convert." A confirmation message displays after the media is successfully encoded. Click "Open Folder with Converter Files" to retrieve the Nokia MP4 output file from its default storage location.
iWisoft Free Video Converter
7. Launch iWisoft Free Video Converter. Click the "Add" icon and browse for the digital video input file in the file selection window.
8. Open the "Profile" pull-down menu. Select "Mobile Phone" and, depending on your preference, choose either "Mobile Phone (GSM) 3GP Video - Mono (*.3gp)" or "Mobile Phone (GSM) 3GP Video - Stereo (*.3gp)."
9. Click "Start." A confirmation message displays when the media has been successfully encoded. Click "Find Target" to retrieve the 3GP output file from its default storage location.
