Unlock The Software For Nokia Phones

Using your computer you can unlock your Nokia phone.


There are many reasons to unlock your phone. If you would like to change service providers, without having to change your phone you will need to unlock your phone. Phones purchased from other people, rather than from a service provider will often times need to be unlocked. Locked phones cannot use SIM cards from different networks or phones.


Instructions


Unlock the Software for Nokia Phones


1. Call your cell phone service provider first and ask for the unlocking code. They may give it to you. This is the easiest way to unlock your phone.


2. Download unlocking software for your phone. Several of these programs are available free online. This will use your serial number and other data to generate the proper unlocking code.


3. Look for your phones serial number. This is usually located underneath the battery, although on most Nokia phones you can pull up the serial number by typing *#06#. Write this number down. This number is also know as your IMEI number.

4. Remove the SIM card from your phone.


5. Open the unlocking program you downloaded. Using the menus select Nokia in the Manufacturer tab and enter your serial number. This may be labeled IMEI number. Enter the whole number including symbols. Click on Get Key. The program will then give you another number to write down. This is the key to unlock your phone.


6. Turn your phone on. The screen should read "Insert SIM card". Enter all the numbers in your key on the phone pad including symbols and letters. The phone should read "Restriction off", your phone is now unlocked.
